Yellowstone: Walker quits the ranch in 2019 scene
Ranch owner John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) and his family have accumulated a number of enemies over the years, but fans are still unsure who was behind the shocking attacks at the end of Yellowstone season three. As the wait for the series to return on Paramount continues, a new theory has suggested each ambush could have been coordinated by a different rival.
Yellowstone fans have speculated there could be not one but three culprits behind the horrific attack on the Duttons that capped off season three.
Last year’s gripping finale left John Dutton bleeding by the roadside and his son, Kayce (Luke Grimes) fending off approaching gunmen.
However, viewers are most concerned about the fate of Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) heading into the next season after an explosive package was delivered to her office.
While most fans are expecting a single mastermind to be behind the coordinated series of ambushes, one fan took to Reddit to propose three individuals could have planned separate attacks.

It would certainly be a massive coincidence if three distinct plans to take down the Duttons all kicked off at once, though it’s not outside the realm of possibility considering how many enemies the ranch has made over the years.
Reddit user dogsanddundermifflin posted: “Okay … so I know this seems far fetched, but it is Yellowstone, and as much as I love this show, that might make this theory even more plausible.
“What if all three attacks (on John, Beth and Kaycee) are all at the hands/orders of different people? And have essentially nothing to do with each other.”
Most fans have the likes of Roarke Morris (Josh Holloway) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) high on their list of suspects who could have orchestrated the attacks.
However, this fan has their eyes on Willa Hayes (Karen Pittman), Roarke’s associate, as Beth’s potential killer.
The fan explained: “For Beth. I think Willa is involved somehow.
“Yes, a little extreme but Beth is attempting to ruin her career – people have killed for less.”
In the latest season, Beth hit back at Roarke’s attempted takeover of Dutton Ranch by driving down the share price of their company, Market Equities.

Their plan to acquire John’s land and turn it into a haven for Montana’s elite has been sabotaged at every turn so far.
But, in the ensuing war, Beth has made herself a prime target with her savvy financial tactics, potentially leaving Willa no choice but to take matters into her own hands.
The same viewer also highlighted a sinister reference to Willa’s past as another potential motive for trying to take down the Duttons’ lawyer.
They continued: “She also mentions it feels like an oil deal in Yemen, and said that’s how it needs to be treated, which seemed ominous.”
“Something bad happened in Yemen. And they want to repeat it in Yellowstone.”
The series’ growing horde of fans were especially devastated by the attack on Beth considering she and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) had just become engaged.
With her life on the line at the beginning of season four, viewers are getting amped up for a thrilling quest for revenge when Yellowstone eventually returns.
Could Willa Hayes be the first on Rip’s hit list when he begins the search for his future wife’s attacker?
Yellowstone will return with season 4 in 2021 on Paramount.
