Yasmeen in Corrie suffers terrifying panic attack in domestic abuse nightmare

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) has done her upmost to move on after being abused by Geoff Metcalfe in Coronation Street.

The ordeal was horrific and left the beloved character traumatised. Geoff would control Yasmeen, isolate her from her friends and family, and even drew small crosses over the house to see if Yasmeen had been cleaning properly.

Fast forward many months and Yasmeen’s life is certainly a lot happier.

Back working at Speed Daal, Yasmeen has come to realise that having a relationship with a kind, caring man is completely possible – and that man is Stu (Bill Fellows).

Or should we have said ‘was’?

We question this because in recent weeks, things have dramatically changed.

Yasmeen, Alya (Sair Khan) and Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) learnt that many years ago, Stu was in prison, facing time behind bars for murdering a young woman.

The revelation left Yasmeen completely shocked and soon, it’s very clear memories of Geoff are haunting her.

After Stu was arrested for breach of peace, Craig (Colson Smith) breaks the news he could be released within a matter of days.

In Speed Daal, Yasmeen delivers a speech about domestic abuse to the fundraiser guests, but she starts to panic.

When Roy (David Neilson) enters, he finds Yasmeen experiencing a panic attack and manages to help calm her down.

Elsewhere, in the prison visiting room, Stu tells Zeedan about his case files and how he intends to prove his innocence.

As Yasmeen struggles with her past and present merging, will things ever be the same between her and Stu?
