#CancelDisneyPlus is now trending on Twitter following the news that Lucasfilm opted to fire Gina Carano from The Mandalorian.
Her fans are now calling for a boycott of the streaming site.
This all happened after the actress shared a controversial post on her social media accounts about the Capitol Hill riots.
Gina reshared a post that compared modern American politics to Nazi Germany, while she claimed that having different political views in 2021 was similar to being Jewish during the Holocaust.
Why did Disney fire Gina Carano from The Mandalorian?
On February 11, 2021 the hashtag #FireGinaCarano was trending on social media after Gina's Instagram post was met with extreme backlash.
It has now been confirmed that she has been fired from The Mandalorian after sharing the controversial post.
A spokesperson for Lucasfilm confirmed that Gina will not return to the show, stating: "Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future."
The statement continued: "Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."
Gina is yet to comment on being fired.
The Mandalorian premiered on Disney+ in back November 2019.
Gina's character Cara Dune became an instant fan favorite, as the actress was praised for her portrayal of the role.
As the series had continued success, she soon became a controversial figure among fans of the show due to her tweets.

Fans have taken to Twitter to vent their fury at Gina being sacked.
This fan tweeted: "I've seen worst things in my country than bad comments on Twitter."
While another said: "If I hadn't already canceled my @disneyplus subscription, I would do so now. I would have resubbed for @themandalorian season 3, but that's not going to happen now."
This one commented: "Congrats. I'll go a step further, I did #CancelDisneyPlus and also #cancelUSA."
But some fans criticised the fact that #CancelDisneyPlus was trending.
This fan tweeted: "I love that a ton of these are just people making fun of the idiots doing it."
