Vikings season six part two is on the way and one question on everyone’s minds is whether Floki (played by Gustaf Skarsgård) will make a comeback. The last fans saw of Floki was when he was in a cave in Iceland, and the cave collapsed around him, leaving many fans presuming he had died. But some believe Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) will bump into Floki while discovering new lands.
Will Ubbe find Floki in North America?
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the final batch of episodes, which will hopefully wrap the saga up with a satisfying ending.
In the first half of season six, Ubbe and his wife Torvi (Georgia Hirst) travelled to Iceland in order to find new land and they hoped to come across Floki, who had gone missing.
Floki had travelled to Iceland with a band of followers from Kattegat, and they had hoped to create a new settlement there. But some of the followers started to question Floki’s leadership, and he was driven out.
When Ubbe and Torvi arrived in Iceland, they met with Othere (Ray Stevenson), a famous wanderer, and he feared Othere had something to do with Floki’s disappearance.
One of Floki’s followers, Kjetill Flatnose (Adam Copeland), also became a suspect after Ubbe found him with a piece of Floki’s jewellery.
There has been no indication of whether Floki is dead or alive, but fans are adamant he will return, and some believe he will end up in North America.
Ubbe actor Smith has previously revealed his character goes on an incredible journey in the final episodes, and in the teaser for season six part B, he is seen discovering a new tribe.
Fans believe this is where he will come across Floki, and they have taken to Reddit to discuss the idea.
One fan said: “I don’t see it being North America because if Floki does end up being there, Ubbe won’t be the first to discover America lol.
“I think it’ll be Iceland because remember the Seer predicted Ubbe would become king but not King of Kattegat, perhaps it’s King of Iceland. Also, according to the writer Hirst, the ruler of Kattegat by the end of the show is a huge surprise and we won’t have predicted it. [sic].”
Another fan said: “Floki will definitely return, the context is a little obscure for now. I can’t even tell if he will be found or get back by himself.”
There was Norse colonization in North America in the 10th century, so there is a chance both Floki and Ubbe could end up there.
According to history, it was Viking trader Thorfinn Karlsefni who had travelled from Greenland to North America, and he and his wife were the first couple to have a baby born in North America.
But the creators of the series may steer away from historical sagas to create a new storyline for Floki, as he will hopefully be returning.
Smith took part in an interview in December 2019 and speaking of his character in the sixth season, he said: “Because it is coming to an end, this season is absolutely epic.

“It’s huge, you are going to see people fight who you don’t want to fight each other, people are going to team up that you don’t want to team up.
“There are people coming, people going, there are some new faces and some favourite faces will leave, some favourite faces will come back.”
Fans feared the worst for Floki’s character after actor Skarsgård said in an Instagram post how Floki “might not have made it out of the cave”.
However he is still listed as one of the main cast members, so there is a strong chance fans will find out what happened to him in the remaining episodes.
One fan made a season six part B prediction on Reddit, saying: “Ubbe: There will be a fight between him and Ketill.
“Maybe Ubbe will become king of Iceland? He’ll go to North America and meet the Natives and possibly talk to Floki again.
“I don’t know if he’ll die but I would like him to reach old age and have his son grow up [sic].”
Actor Skarsgård took part in an interview in July 2020 about the transition he made from Vikings to the popular TV series, Cursed.
He said: “When I was first told about the project and sent the scripts, I was like, I’m not sure if like, you know, another few years of shooting a fantasy show is what I’m exactly looking for at the moment.
“But when I read it and I read this take on Merlin I was like no this is just too much fun to pass on.”
He did not indicate whether he would make an appearance in the final episodes of Vikings.
His Vikings character remains a fan-favourite and viewers are keen to find out whether he was able to escape the cave and discover new land in North America.
Ubbe is likely to also discover the settlement, but it is yet to be revealed whether the two old friends will be reunited.
