This Morning and Loose Women in schedule shake up after Russia invades Ukraine

THIS Morning and Loose Women have both been affected by the news of Russia invading Ukraine today.

The shows' schedules have been slightly altered to include the hourly ITV news bulletins, reporting on the developing situation.


This Morning kicked off five minutes late today to make room for an important news item.

Holly told viewers:  "Now, as you might have noticed, there's a slightly different schedule on ITV this morning."

"We're bringing you the latest on the situation in Ukraine via our colleagues at ITV news both at 11 o'clock and midday."

ITV is expected to interrupt all programmes today for the hourly news.

At midday BORIS Johnson vowed to "hobble" Russia with crippling sanctions after Vladimir Putin "unleashed war" on Ukraine.

In a rare and sobering TV address to the nation the PM said: "Diplomatically, politically, economically – and eventually, militarily – this hideous and barbaric venture of Vladimir Putin must end in failure."

Bombs and missiles began falling on Ukraine at dawn shortly after Putin declared war on the country in a chilling televised address.

Bloodied civilians were pictured stumbling through debris after air strikes blitzed a slew of major cities including capital Kyiv.

Mr Johnson was woken at 4am for an urgent call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy before chairing a Cobra meeting in Whitehall.

In his four-minute TV statement he said: "Our worst fears have now come true and all our warnings have proved tragically accurate.

"President Putin of Russia has unleashed war in our European continent."
