AMC’s epic horror saga has stalled production of the upcoming season eleven, but there are still more episodes of The Walking Dead dropping on a weekly basis. With a major character set to leave, it’s been revealed how one episode drops a major hint for how the departure occurs.
Michonne (Danai Gurira) has been a staple for the zombie series ever since her introduction in season three.
Danai has recently found further success playing Okoye for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and her busier schedule has prompted her to find new directions outside of the demanding series.
It has been confirmed her character, a ruthless survivor who became an adept swordswoman in the apocalypse, will bow out by the end of season 10.
Many fans have been speculating whether Michonne will be killed or simply move on to pastures new.

An article for entertainment outlet Digital Spy has suggested the midseason finale for season 10, The World Before, may have foreshadowed what exactly will spur Michonne to abandon the main group.
They remind readers that the previous series lead Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), was presumed dead but actually flown away by Anne (Pollyanna McIntosh) towards an unknown location during season nine.
However, Michonne may have received a hint her old ally could be alive somewhere after all.
When she comes across another survivor, Virgil (Kevin Carroll), she questions why the mysterious stranger saved her friend Luke (Dan Fogler) and his answer prompts a tearful response.
He said: “There is no play. I don’t know, I just did it. He needed help. Even with what might happen to me here, I’m glad I did it.
“Mercy is in short supply these days. I don’t expect it. Maybe I don’t deserve it.”
His stirring code of honour catches Michonne by surprise and she starts crying despite herself.
She replies: “Just reminded me of something a friend of mine used to say. ‘My mercy prevails over my wrath’,” she says.

Rick Grimes has used this line in the series before, and after this guest spot from Kevin Carroll, fans have been speculating whether Virgil had come across Rick in the past.
While another major death in the series would be in true TWD fashion, this has already been one of the most devastating seasons of the show yet.
This brief conversation with Virgil was received with wild speculation that more characters will begin to discover the truth about Rick.
Rather than face a bloody end at the hands of Alpha (Samantha Morton) and her army of Whisperers, Michonne could depart on a perilous adventure to find her old ally.

Andrew Lincoln has also been confirmed to reprise his role as Rick Grimes in a trilogy of films based on the series.
Now Danai Gurira has cinematic experience, she could make a return to the world of The Walking Dead on the big screen.
A promotional trailer for the next episode has teased the return of Virgil, with the possibility of an uncomfortable truth being revealed.
The Walking Dead continues every Sunday on AMC and every Monday on Fox UK.
