TEEN Mom Farrah Abraham was only hired for the show spin-off to “bring drama” and “not get along with her former co-stars,” her mom, Debra Danielsen, claimed.
Farrah, 30, made a surprise return during filming for the spinoff, which features cast members from Teen Mom 2 and Teen Mom OG living in one house, despite her firing in 2017 after her harsh treatment of the crew.
In an exclusive interview with Farrah’s mom Debra, 63, she revealed her daughter was brought on because of her ability to create drama.
She said: “She was hired to bring the drama. Why would she want to get along with anybody? MTV knows Farrah has a following. They also know she is controversial so it sells.”
Debra continued that the “time is right” for Farrah and for MTV, as the show has declined in ratings.
She added: “It’s a job for Farrah. I really think the days of TMOG, the way it has been, has come to an end and MTV knows that so they’re doing what they did with Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.”
The Teen Mom spinoff features Teen Mom OG stars Maci Bookout and Amber Portwood, and Teen Mom 2’s Briana DeJesus, Ashley Jones and Jade Cline living in a "retreat" together.
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported Farrah’s surprise appearance on the show created a massive fight with certain cast members.
A source told the outlet: “The producers didn’t tell the other cast that Farrah was coming because they wanted a big reaction.
“They definitely got what they wanted: everything basically exploded on the set… again.”
The Ashley also reported the fight on set turned physical.
The insider continued: “Everyone was absolutely pissed when they found out about Farrah. Words were said. One of the ‘Teen Mom OG’ girls actually flipped some furniture in anger. Another girl threw something [toward Farrah] and it hit a different cast member on accident. It was complete chaos.”

The outlet didn’t include names of those involved in the altercation with Farrah.
But Farrah wasn’t the only one to cause chaos, as Briana, Jade and Ashley also fought at the beginning of filming.
Farrah, who is mom to daughter Sophia, 12, has been on the outs with her TMOG co-stars for years and has slammed the franchise.
But Farrah isn’t only feuding with her co-stars, as she is also estranged from her mom Debra.
Debra previously told The Sun: “We haven’t talked for quite some time. May was the last time I spoke to her.”
Debra, who goes by stage name Debz OG, wouldn’t reveal the reason for the falling out, as she said it is a “private matter.”
She added that she has “no relationship” with her granddaughter as well.
Debra continued: “I am sad because Sophia is an amazing person and I love her so much. We had years together. I love her. I miss her.”
The rapper added that she will “always” hope the two will mend their relationship.
She said: “Sometimes you feel like you’re owed an apology. When you love people, like Christ loves us and forgives us, we need to do likewise. Love each other, forgive each other and work together. That’s where I’m at. What mother would not want that?”
Debra also said that while she doesn’t blame their appearance on the MTV show for their falling out, she does believe the spotlight changed Farrah.
She said: “When you’re on TV your world changes and things become different. It is what it is. It’s because you’re working in a different realm. Some of that goes to some people’s heads. They’re not as approachable or teachable as they used to be.
“Going on TV did have an effect, it always does, it’s being human. I’m not saying anything bad about MTV or my daughter, but it changed her to feeling more entitled. Even if you’re president you should always have respect and honor for other people.”
