Strictly Come Dancing WILL eliminate another celebrity this weekend – despite Robert Webb's shock exit

STRICTLY Come Dancing have confirmed that they WILL eliminate another celebrity this weekend – despite Robert Webb's shock exit.

The 49-year-old comic and professional partner Dianne Buswell announced this evening that they were leaving the competition due to poor health.

Robert underwent major heart surgery in 2019, and was struggling with the gruelling training and energetic routines.

Despite the unexpected departure, Strictly bosses have confirmed to The Sun that another celeb will follow Robert out of the door this weekend.

Saturday's live show will also go ahead as normal, with the pre-recorded results show to air on Sunday night.

Nina Wadia and Katie McGlynn were the first two celebs to be eliminated this series, with Judi Love surviving last weekend's dance-off.

The remaining stars will now have to battle it out for a spot in the following weekend's show.

Releasing a statement earlier today, Robert said that he was "proud" to have performed three routines with Dianne as he explained why he'd been forced to withdraw.

He shared: "Two years ago I had open heart surgery and although I believed I was fit enough to take on Strictly and its demanding schedule, it became clear that I had bitten off way more than I could chew for this stage in my recovery.

"I had begun to feel symptoms that led me to seek an urgent consultation with my heart specialist, and it was her view that it would be better for the sake of my health to step back from the show."

The Peep Show favourite went on: "I leave knowing that Strictly viewers are in very safe hands and I’ll be cheering for my brother and sister contestants all the way to Christmas. Despite this sad ending, it has been a genuine honour to be part of this huge, joyful and barking mad TV show. Long may it continue.”

Robert and Dianne had impressed Strictly viewers with their routines – most recently performing while dressed up as Kermit The Frog and Ms. Piggy for Movie Week.

Thecomic opened up about his congenital heart defect earlier this month, where he revealed he could barely walk last year after having emergency surgery to save his life.
