Spoilers: Knife horror revealed as David is ambushed by muggers in Corrie

David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) has had an incredibly tough time over the last couple of months in Coronation Street, as he comes to terms with Shona Ramsey’s (Julia Goulding) decision to refuse him visitation rights at the rehab centre, but he finds himself in a terrify situation in the coming episodes, as he’s set upon by a group of muggers with a knife.

Last year was a tough one for David, as he found himself facing a prison sentence. Matters were made worse when rapist Josh (Ryan Clayton) showed up in the same prison, and then — after getting stabbed — lied to the police, telling them that David was the person responsible for the attack.

In spite of the odds being stacked against him, David was released from prison and he married his love Shona. However, Christmas brought with it some tough times, as Shona was injured in Derek’s (Craig Els) rampage, and — after falling into a coma — she lost her memory.

David has done all he can in an effort to help Shona remember, but she has thus far been unable to do so, and — as a result — she’s refused to see him, something which has naturally made him incredibly upset.

However, matters are set to get even worse for the young lad, as Coronation Street has revealed that — in the coming episodes — David storms out of the house following an argument with Gail (Helen Worth).

During his stroll, he’s set upon by a group of muggers, who proceed to drag him into an alleyway before pulling a knife on him.

Will David be stabbed?

If so, will he die?

Or will someone manage to come to his aid in time?

Coronation Street continues Monday 23 March at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
