Rylan Clark jumped into defend his This Morning co-host Ruth Langsford, after she had been likened to Percy Pig.

The on-screen ‘mother and son’ duo have returned to host the ITV daytime show for a special week, but it didn’t seem to go off to the best start on Monday, when guest Alice Beer likened Ruth to the pink pig sweets.

Wearing a bright pink suit, Ruth had said: ‘I’ve gone a bit Barbie today,’ however Alice made a quick jibe behind-the-scenes.

After an ad break, Ruth added: ‘Alice Beer just said I look like a Percy Pig!’

Rylan was left in hysterics, but Ruth jokingly said: ‘Well I don’t need to come here to be insulted…’

Alice tried to dig herself out of the whole, saying: ‘One of my very favourite things in the world may I say!’ with Ruth adding: ‘Well saved!’

Today, Rylan brought up the hilarious incident again, but jumped into defend Ruth’s attire, calling her a ‘goddess’.

‘Oh you look nice’, he commented, with Ruth replying: ‘Thank you very nice, take the surprise out of your voice!’

Rylan replied: ‘The last two days, I’ve had a little bully, had a little laugh.’

‘I’ve had Percy the Pig, Kermit the frog,’ Ruth replied.

‘You look like a goddess!’ he added.

Rylan’s comment comes after a cheeky dig he also made yesterday over the Percy Pig comment.

Instead of hot pink, Ruth opted for a bright green suit on Tuesday, to which Rylan joked: ‘Hello, good morning, and welcome to your Tuesday This Morning with Rylan and Kermit. Percy yesterday and Kermit today.’

‘Percy yesterday and Kermit today apparently – or the Jolly Green Giant,’ Ruth chuckled back, showing off her outfit.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
