Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) is set to be left deeply concerned that Carla Connor’s (Alison King) battle with psychosis is informing her decision making as she decides to grant shares of the factory to the Underworld workforce.
Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) has been overseeing the factory while Carla has been in recovery from her breakdown in a unit in Carlisle with Peter by her side but as she comes back and calls a staff meeting, it seems like Carla intends to take back the reins.
However, her announcement leaves everyone shocked – not least of all Peter, who thinks she is taking rash action and that it’s because she is ill. When Carla later overhears a concerned Peter talking to Roy Cropper (David Neilson) about looking into getting power of attorney, she is upset.
She confronts Peter and explains to him that recent events have made her look at life in a different way. With her priorities changed, her mental health as well as the deaths of Aidan and Rana have made her reassess everything and realise that there is more to living than money and business.
As she implores Peter to stand by her decision and to support her – as well as trusting that she knows her own mind – will he see it her way?
And how will Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) respond to Carla’s unexpected move?
