'NCIS' Star Maria Bello Teases Fans With More Behind-The-Scenes Photos

With Cote de Pablo returning to NCIS in season 17, Maria Bello’s Jack Sloane has slid under the radar. Last season, Sloane confessed that she has feelings for someone – we’re guessing that it’s probably Gibbs (Mark Harmon) – but was having trouble expressing her thoughts. This sets the stage for some major developments for the character in the romance department, though producers have been very tight-lipped about her journey this season.

That all changed this past week when Bello teased fans with a behind-the-scenes photo of herself posing with a few co-stars. What does the photo tell us about Bello’s storyline in season 17 of NCIS?

Bello teases fans with an on-set photo

Taking to Instagram, Bello shared a shot of herself posing alongside the likes of Emily Wickersham, Sean Murray, and Wilmer Valderrama. Unfortunately, Harmon was not included in the photo, but that doesn’t mean the two are going to avoid each other the entire season.

Sloane has proven herself to be a valuable asset to the teamover the past couple of years, and her relationship with Gibbs is unlikeanything he has experienced before. She is one of the few people who speaks hermind with Gibbs and definitely makes him reconsider his thoughts from time totime.

When it comes to their romance, there is no telling if thesparks will fly this season or not. If the photo is anything to go by, there isa good chance that their romance will be a slow-burning one, which is notuncommon for the show.

There’s also Ziva’s return to take into account. NCIS producers have already confirmed that Ziva will be back in action during the first two episodes of season 17, so it is possible that Sloane’s storyline takes a back seat for the first part of the season.

Sadly, Bello did not reveal any details about hercharacter’s journey in her post, so it is difficult to tell where she is headedthis year.

Bello dishes on working with Harmon

While we wait to learn more about Sloane’s romance withGibbs, Bello recently opened up about what it is like working with the NCIS veteran. According to Express,Bello said that she loves working with Harmon on set and appreciates everythinghe brings to the table.

“It’s fun playing with Mark, we just have a ball together,” Belloshared. “There is still a real feeling of creativity and a sense of reinventionon our set.”

Bello is relatively new to the series and joined back in2017. At the time, Sloane’s relationship with Gibbs was very strained. In fact, the two often butted heads and could not agree on anything.

Luckily, their working relationship has improved greatlyover the years and the characters now hold each other in high regard. Last season,Bello helped Gibbs deal with some issues he was having about his past – athread that will likely continue as the series moves forward.

Speaking of Gibbs, Harmon echoed Bello’s sentiments aboutworking together. The actor complimented Bello on her acting chops and addedthat she seems to really enjoy being on the show.

Will Gibbs and Sloane get romantic in season 17 of ‘NCIS’?

The romance between Gibbs and Sloane is in its infancy at the moment, but the two did make some strides towards a proper relationship last season. This includes Sloane admitting that she cares about Gibbs.

In a recent interview, Bello teased that Gibbs and Sloanewill continue to develop their friendship this season. The actress did not say anythingabout a romance, but she did assure fans that they both care about each other.

Whether or not that is enough to get the romance ballrolling is yet to be seen. But there is no denying that Sloane and Gibbs sharea good amount of chemistry and would probably make an amazing couple.

With the premiere of NCIS only a few weeks away, the series recently dropped its first trailer for the upcoming season. The clip did not reveal anything new about Sloane, but it did feature another look at Ziva in action. Hopefully, Ziva’s return won’t drive a wedge between Sloane and Gibbs, but you never know.

Season 17 of NCISis scheduled to premiere September 24 on CBS.
