Warning: The following article contains spoilers from Money Heist season five, part one.
Money Heist, or La Casa De Papel, returned with season five, part one on September 3 on Netflix. The second part of the season won’t premiere until December 3, but one crucial moment in episode two has led to fans speculating about the fate of Arturo Roman (played by Enrique Arce).
Will Arturo die in season five part two?
Now Money Heist has finally returned, fans are speculating on the future of the series, namely how it will come to an end during the final season.
In episodes one and two of the latest series, Arturo played a central part during the proceedings.
When it looked as though the gang were about to surrender, Arturo gathered up some of the hostages and told them they’d escape.
Arturo took some of the hostages, including the Bank of Spain’s manager, to a vault where the gang’s weapons were stored.
He decided to take on the gang by loading a machine gun onto a fork lift, teasing Denver (Jaime Lorente) about his partner Stockholm (Esther Acebo).
Arturo is the true father of Stockholm’s son and teased Denver, trying to provoke a reaction.
Little did he know Stockholm had heard everything he said and dropped from the ceiling behind the forklift and threatened to shoot him.
As Arturo told Stockholm she’d never see her son Cincinnati again, she pulled the trigger and shot him.
It looked as though he was dead but Stockholm, Manila and Tokyo (Ursula Corbero) managed to get his pulse back and he was rushed out of the bank.
Stockholm felt incredibly guilty and in the final two episodes, kept seeing hallucinations of Arturo, believing he was dead.
His fate was not confirmed but fans are sure he cannot die because of his horrific actions in season four.
In one of the most shocking moments for the show, Arturo drugged and sexually assaulted Amanda (Olalla Hernández), a Bank of Spain employee.
Amanda told the other hostages what Arturo did to her and they all turned on him.
Fans are certain the series would not let him die without dealing with the consequences of his actions.
Taking to Reddit, one fan posted: “I don’t think he will die; it just doesn’t make sense how would he even die, the gang doesn’t kill hostages.
“What I do think will happen to him is that he will get charged for rape and maybe in this season he will kill someone and probably be sentenced to life in prison.
“I can totally see that happening and most people will probably be disappointed with that ending but let’s be real it makes complete sense because the gang isn’t just going to break the rules out of nowhere.”
One of the gang’s most essential rules is that they don’t kill, meaning Arturo will likely meet a more practical end.
For now, fans will have to wait and see what happens to Arturo across the new season, but it looks certain his character will continue down the dark spiral seen in season four.
Money Heist season five part one is available to watch now, exclusively on Netlix. Season five part two will premiere on December 3.
