Love Island is set to make Brad McClelland and Lucinda Strafford choose which one of them will go home tonight, but some fans are predicting a double exit.

The ITV2 show’s cast have become incredibly close knit in just a few short weeks, so the result of tonight’s twist will send shockwaves through the villa if the couple decide to follow each other home.

In the past, contestants have gone both ways – some have decided to stay loyal to each other and depart the sun-soaked island as a pair, while others have been more brutal.

Will Northumberland labourer Brad pine after Lucinda if she goes home without him? Or will the Brighton-based islander happily move on in the villa if she says bye to the boy who “talks too much”?

Faye Winter was the unlucky islander forced to deliver the news that the public voted the least compatible couple as Brad, 26, and Lucinda, 21.

The contestants had only just settled into their new couples after getting through yet another dramatic sun-soaked day in the Mallorca villa.

And in scenes from Tuesday night's show, no one could hide their surprise as fear over their collective fates on the show started to creep in.

Mille Court, 24, looked horrified to learn Sharon Gaffka, Hugo Hammond, Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran had been saved by the public vote, but her closest friend Lucinda was at risk.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer predicted: “If Brad and blonde really like each other then there’s no reason they should want to stay and if they pick someone else it shows they are either playing a game or just lying about their feelings and waiting for someone new to come in #LoveIsland.”

“#LoveIsland predictions: Brad will offer to go thinking Lucinda will come with him. She'll stay behind and find someone new and tell them that poor old Brad was dryyyy,” another fan guessed.

A third person echoed the possibility that the couple in danger will depart the villa together, suggesting: “if Brad and Lucinda really like each other, they’ll both leave #LoveIsland #Brad #Lucinda.”

Others are convinced that Brad could move on if Lucinda leaves, especially given his past actions with dumped islander Rachel Finni.
