Love Island star Michael Griffiths admits he wants to get to know one of the new girls better in Sunday’s episode – in the form of Joanna Chimonides.
The 27 year old Liverpudlian is currently coupled up with Amber Gill, 21 – who is over at Casa Amor with a bevy of new gentlemen.
But while Amber appears to be sticking to her romance with Michael, he’s having other ideas.
Joanna wastes no time in taking Michael to one side to get to know him, before establishing where things stand between him and Amber.
She says: “I just wanted to pull you aside because you are my type and obviously I wanted to get to know where you’re at. You’re coupled up with Amber. How are things going?”
With unexpected candour, Michael opens up about the frustrations in his relationship with Amber and adds: “Is there certain things that have gone on that I think are quite childish? Yes there is. Are they things that I would probably put up with outside? Probably not as much as I am in here.
“She’s quite straight with everything but at the same time she’s not straight with me sometimes and that can be quite frustrating.”
Speaking to Curtis, he later debates whether or not to sleep in a bed with Joanna – but admits he does want to.
- Love Island quiz round – how much do you REALLY know about the ITV2 dating show?
“I wasn’t going to do anything,” he told the dancer, upon his decision to sleep outside. “Just chat.”
Curtis replied: “You can chat, but I think it’s pushing it on the first night mate. Just out of respect for Amber.”
Confiding in the Beach Hut, Michael admits that the new girls’ arrival has led him to question how strong his relationship with Amber really is.

He says: “The new girls coming in has obviously come at a great time. It’s helped me realise situations that I’ve overlooked with Amber, and it’s made me realise that I did go into a shell over the past week and I wasn’t really acting myself. Just acting a bit out of character.
“This has come at a good time to help me clear things up in my head.”
