In a presenting shake-up, Kate Garraway told Good Morning Britain viewers her co-star Ranvir Singh would be hosting Lorraine on Friday. It’s not known why Lorraine Kelly was missing from her self-titled show but it wasn’t the first time Ranvir had hosted. Earlier in the year Ranvir shared presenting duties with Cat Deeley while Lorraine enjoyed a long summer break.
There was also a change to the schedule for Lorraine as Ranvir was expected to speak to Judi Love about her Strictly Come Dancing journey.
However, after Judi tested positive for coronavirus, she could no longer join the presenter in the studio with professional partner Graziano Di Prima.
Instead Ranvir would simply be reflecting on this year’s series of Strictly – which she has previously taken part in – and speculating who would be next to be eliminated.
The host also shared the news Bruno Tonioli would be returning to Strictly for the 2022 tour.

However there were some guests who could still appear as John Thomson joined Ranvir to talk about The Masked Singer and his latest role.
Other topics covered on the show included the Queen’s stay in hospital with Ranvir admitting it was “worrying”.
She spoke to Nick Dixon about the news before stylist Mark turned his attention to Kate Middelton.
He was on hand to tell viewers how they could replicate the Duchess of Cambridge’s red look from an event at BAFTA earlier in the week.
Ranvir was clearly thrilled to be back on the show as she posted a snap of her outfit before going live.
Sharing a behind-the-scenes picture on her Instagram Story, she told viewers: “See you on @lorraine at 9am.”
The host looked stunning in a tight-fitting green dress and black heels while she wore her dark locks in loose waves.
Speaking previously about hosting the chat show, Ranvir commented: “I’m in a nice warm studio for once!
“It’s great to get under the skin of the people you are interviewing.
“You’ve got a bit more time and because there’s just one of you doing the interview, you’re able to follow your own trail of thought and where my personal interest lies in that particular person’s story.
“It just means that you have a bit more freedom in a way to have that conversation that you find particularly poignant or interesting and can bring a bit more of myself into.”
Ranvir added she was able to have more one-on-one time with guests compared to Good Morning Britain.
“In Lorraine there’s a lot more human interest and it’s about other parts of me that I can bring out, which I can’t really bring out when I’m standing at Westminster,” she explained.
“Just to be able to speak to guests about what’s going on in their lives, as opposed to always looking for a headline.
“I just really enjoy that, spending time talking to people in a way that you can’t in three-minute interviews. It’s just a real thrill for me!”
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV from 9am.
