The One Show had an all-new look on Monday evening as Ronan Keating and Angela Scanlon stepped in for Alex Jones. And joining the duo on the first episode of the week was former Loose Women star and singer Jane McDonald to discuss her upcoming album, TV shows and other work projects amid the coronavirus pandemic. But when discussing just how much of an impact the pandemic had had on her career, Jane joked about how she feared her partner Eddie “wouldn’t like her” in lockdown.
Jane joined Angela and Ronan inside The One Show studio this evening as opposed to via video link, telling the pair she’d do “anything to have a trip out”.
Angela then quizzed the star on how lockdown and the pandemic has impacted her life.
“We’re kind of all facing into that again, aren’t we?” Angela asked. “But for you, you spent so much of the time every year traveling.
“It must’ve been quite odd for you,” she said, prompting Jane to joke about her partner.
“Well for four and a half year, I haven’t been home,” she told The One Show pair.
She continued: “And it’s weird because when I got home and it was all locked down, I thought ‘what if he (Eddie) don’t like me?’
“It was a bit of a shock,” Jane continued as Angela and Ronan let out a laugh.
“I thought this could be it,” she also joked before clarifying lockdown had actually made the pair “a lot stronger”.
