‘Survivor’ Season 42 is new tonight, March 23

Fans will not have to wait long to see who is the third person voted off the island in Survivor Season 42. A new episode of Survivor airs tonight, March 23, on CBS.

The synopsis for episode 3, “Go for the Gusto,” reads, “One tribe attempts to recover after drawing a line in the sand at Tribal Council. Also, a castaway goes on a journey and must make a decision that could change their game, and one tribe stacks their way to victory, earning immunity and a fruitful reward.”

What happened in the previous episode?

To prepare for tonight’s episode of Survivor, we have to look back on the first two hours of season 42. Producers medically evacuated Jackson in the first episode of Survivor Season 42. And the Ika tribe voted out Zach after losing the immunity challenge in the premiere. So after only one episode, 16 castaways remained in the game.

The second episode featured new alliances and castaways forming stronger bonds. Drea told Swati and Tori about her extra vote to establish a women’s alliance. Unfortunately, that only made Swati want to get Drea out next. At the Taku camp, Omar and Jonathan quickly established themselves as an unlikely duo.

And at Vati, Mike found the “Beware Advantage” and told Jenny and Daniel about it. But Daniel later informed Chanelle about Mike’s idol, and they planned to take Mike out before he could have a chance to activate it.

Ika and Vati won at the Immunity Challenge, sending Taku to Tribal Council. In the moments leading up to tribal, the castaways pondered either voting out Maryanne or Marya. In the end, Marya played her “Shot in the Dark,” but it didn’t keep her safe. And the rest of her tribemates voted her out. Who will be the next one to go in tonight’s episode of Survivor Season 42?

Fans believe they know which ‘Survivor’ castaway is leaving tonight

As seen in the preview for tonight’s new episode of Survivor, it looks like Maryanne finds a “Beware Advantage,” and Mike loses his idol. But we also know that something monumental will occur at the Immunity Challenge, thanks to the preview.

In a Reddit thread, fans discussed what might happen during the challenge. And one big clue that they found was from the press photos. They show an 18-minute gap between the picture taken of Jonathan throwing bags and the pictures of the other two tribes still in the water.

One user wrote, “I think what happens is that Taku finishes the challenge, but Vati and Ika are dangerously still at the water portion, and [Jeff Probst] decides to scrap the water portion, so the contestants don’t drown … Rocksroy looked like he was literally panicking out there and those waves are no joke from some of the press photos. I’m sure the producers/medical/legal team stepped in to keep anyone from getting seriously hurt.”

So, either Vati or Ika is likely heading to Tribal Council. And thanks to spoilers and speculation that claim Jenny is the next to go, it will probably be Vati. In another Reddit thread, fans discussed the probability that Jenny is voted out next. In an Instagram post, Jenny proclaimed her love for Survivor, which made many people believe her time on the show is coming to an end.

A fan said, “I’m probably being paranoid, but this gives me vibes of an ‘I’m so incredibly thankful for the experience’ kind of post. Like the kind of post a player makes after they get voted out in the most recent episode.”

Survivor Season 42 Episode 3 airs tonight, March 23, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
