I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Shaun Ryder looks unrecognisable in throwback snaps of him in the hit 80s and 90s band Happy Mondays.

60 year old Shaun, who will be gracing our screens for the I'm A Celeb South Africa series next week, took to Instagram last week to share a throwback snap.

Taking to his page, which has over 94,000 followers, Shaun shared a black and white snap from 1987 of him with his bandmates.

"Happy Mondays – New York, 1987," he penned in the caption before tagging the photographer and hashtagging "Way Back Wednesday".

Fans flocked to the comments section to reminisce over the old snap, with many completely taken aback with what a throwback it was.

One person penned: "Classic photo," while another said: "Brilliant pic."

"Had this poster in 91," added a third, while a fourth spoke of how the lads looked "so young".

And in snaps of the band from the late 80s and early 90s, Shaun looks equally as unrecognisable as the one he posted from 1987.

The snap above shows Shaun with his brother Paul, posing in front of a blue background in 1992.

Looking incredibly youthful, Shaun could be seen with a full head of mousey brown.

In the snap Shaun donned a straitjacket while his brother could be seen holding it it tight at the back and fastening it tight.

While the snap below sees the brothers with their father Derek posing for a black and white candid in 1991.

Posing in a doorway, Shaun could be seen standing in the middle of his dad and brother while gazing into the camera.

Wearing a white shirt, which was buttoned up to the top, Shaun looked laidback as he posed for the snap.

And another throwback snap from his Happy Mondays days sees Shaun and Bez performing live at the Free Trade Hall, Manchester in 1989, with Shaun donning long hair and a vacant facial expression.

Shaun is best known as being the lead singer of Happy Mondays, as well as being a leading figure in the Madchester cultural scene during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The original line-up of Happy Mondays comprised of Shaun, his brother Paul Ryder, Gary Whelan, Paul Davis, and Mark Day.

Mark "Bez" Berry later joined the band onstage as a dancer/percussionist, and singer Rowetta joined as a second vocalist in 1990.

This comes as fans prepare to see Shaun grace their television screens for the new series of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! South Africa.

The new series will begin airing on April 24 on ITV1 and ITVX and feature Shaun, along with a whole host of past celebrity contestants like Carol Vorderman and Helen Flanagan, among many others.
