I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! 2021 is expected to be announcing its cast soon, with last year’s show taking place in November. While no release date or casting has been confirmed by ITV, there are some rumours, and bookies favourites, circulating about who could be going to Gwrych Castle in 2021. But who is in the rumoured line-up this year?
Who is heading to Wales for I’m A Celebrity 2021?
Last year’s show had to make a number of significant changes to the format, relocating the series from the heat of the jungle to the cold of Wales.
With the show set to launch later this year, all eyes are on ITV to announce just who could be in this year’s ensemble.
Nothing has been confirmed at this stage, but that hasn’t stopped rumours and fan speculation from going wild, with more evidence mounting that these celebs will be the new dream team.
Express.co.uk has brought together all the potential candidates for I’m A Celebrity 2021, along with looking at Ladbrookes new data on the bookies favourites.
Kicking off the line-up is Richard Arnold, the Good Morning Britain Presenter who some viewers are hoping will make the trip to Wales.
His co-star Kate Garraway competed in the series a few years ago, making Arnold’s chances likely, with the presenter saying in May: “I wouldn’t officially rule it out.”
Armold continued: “It’s a great show and it’d be great to be a part of it. I’ve never experienced anyone who’s come out of it and said they’ve had any regrets.”
Love Island alumni Olivia Attwood would feel right at home on I’m A Celebrity, having already starred in Celebrity Karaoke Club.
The star has opened up about wanted to go on the show, telling RadioTimes: “I’d love to do the jungle. I’d give Dancing on Ice a go, although it does scare me. I’m a bit of a baby, so I don’t like getting hurt.
“I feel like the minute I fall over once, I’d be done. I know it sounds dramatic, but I’m just a bit like that. For me, the jungle is less scary. So I’d love to do the jungle.”
As a former Strictly Come Dancing star, former footballer John Barnes has admitted he would be open to trying out the jungle, or castle now.
Speaking to the Mirror, Barns said: “To be honest, there’s nothing that I wouldn’t eat or anything I wouldn’t do… I’m fairly easy-going, if they asked me to do something, I’d do it.”
A fan-favourite to go to the castle could be Matt Baker, the One Show co-host is currently one of the bookies’ top picks to join the show.
The Countryfile star hasn’t officially commented on joining the show, but that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping.
ITV has not hidden the fact that it would like Eric Cantona to join the show, with one of the network’s executives revealing as much at a recent Q&A.
ITV’s Director of Entertainment, Richard Cowles said at a Royal Television Society Q&A: “I just like the idea of Eric Cantona talking in French and coming up with really profound things.”
Hot off reaching the Strictly Come Dancing final last year is Jamie Laing, with some fans noticing the star has recently become available.
Laing quit Made in Chelsea earlier this year after a decade, giving the star more than enough time to head over to Wales for a few weeks.
The Chase is more popular than ever and getting another of the Chasers themselves in the castle would be a sight to see for fans.
Jenny Ryan AKA Vixen, recently Tweeted: “My main reservations about doing I’m A Celeb have always been 1. The Spiders 2. The Snakes 3. The Heat. This could be a big opportunity for ol’ Jenny.”
Jack Whitehall is another bookie favourite to join the reality TV series, with fans previously petitioning him to head to the castle.
Whitehall has never commented on joining the series, but if he was to be announced it would be one of the biggest gets for ITV.
Finally comes Jake Wood, with the former EastEnders star being another star tipped to enter the castle.
His schedule lines up with the series as well, with the star’s performance of 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Noel Coward Theatre ending in October.
For now, fans will have to wait and see who exactly will be chosen for this year’s line-up.
But if any of the above aren’t chosen, there is still the opportunity for them to make an appearance in a later year.
Who do the bookies think will go to Wales?
As of September, the bookies have Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon (5/4) and Will Mellor (6/4) as the most likely celebs to head to north Wales, who played Bethany Platt and Harvey Gaskell.
Love Island’s Liberty Poole is also pegged to join at two to one, a price she shares with Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall and The Chase’s Jenny Ryan.
Jackie Weaver is at six to one, the internet sensation who exploded in popularity following a viral parish council meeting video from earlier this year.
Ladbrokes’s Alex Apati said: “This could be one of the best I’m A Celebrity line-ups yet with the likes of Piers Morgan, Tom Daley and Jade Thirlwall all well-fancied to make an appearance in Gwrych Castle later this year.”
I’m A Celebrity will be available to watch on ITV and ITV Hub.
