'General Hospital': Nancy Lee Grahn Says Ingo Rademacher Was Fired For Transphobic Comments

Controversy has once again struck General Hospital. After sharing what many considered to be a transphobic post, Ingo Rademacher has been reportedly fired from the show. Nancy Lee Grahn said that the actor was ‘mercifully’ no longer a part of the cast. But some fans speculate that his termination is a result of his failure to comply with the production’s vaccine mandate. And some fans question whether Rademacher was fired in the first place. Let’s take a look at the controversy.

Ingo Rademacher shared a meme that many considered transphobic

According to Yahoo, General Hospital actor Ingo Rademacher took to Instagram to share the offensive post in question. The post features Dr. Rachel Levine, the United States’ recently-sworn-in first transgender four-star officer. It also features Winsome Sears, who elected Virginia’s first Black woman Lieutenant Governor.

But that’s not the problem with the post.

The outlet further explained that the image called Dr. Levine a “dude.” Then, Rademacher followed up the comment with a caption of his own. “Always search for the truth and be open to the fact it might come from a source you might not always agree with,” he wrote. Then, he followed up the post with various anti-COVID vaccine comments. Many of the comments came with warnings from the CDC about legitimate COVID-19 research.

His ‘General Hospital’ castmates spoke out against him

Many of Rademacher’s General Hospital castmates spoke out against the comments he made on Instagram.

Cassandra James, a trans actor who plays Dr. Terry Randolph on the show, was the first to blast Rademacher for his comments.

“I am aware of a transphobic post shared by a fellow General Hospital actor,” she said on Twitter. “Shame on you. You have some serious unlearning and education to do. I feel deeply disappointed that such a public display of ignorance could come from our GH family.”

And James immediately received support from other General Hospital actors.

“I am aware of the transphobic post shared by a GH member & I would like to start by saying I am disgusted by this action,” wrote Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos-Morgan, on Twitter. “Misgendering trans individuals is dangerous & I do not support this behavior. I stand in support of all trans folks & echo the words of @cassandrajames_.”

Nancy Lee Grahn weighs in

Finally, Nancy Lee Grahn weighed in on the debate. Grahn tweeted that Rademacher was fired from the show. She also tweeted her support for James. And she said that transphobia and misgendering are “disgusting” and shouldn’t be a part of any industry.

However, Grahn is the only one who has stated that Rademacher was fired. Deadline reports that General Hospital executives haven’t confirmed Rademacher’s exit as of yet. What’s more, Rademacher himself hasn’t commented on his status with the soap.

We will keep you posted if we receive any official word from General Hospital about the actor’s status on the show.
