Gemma Collins goes designer shopping to Gucci with her mum in London in bright-coloured outfit

GEMMA Collins couldn’t be missed as she enjoyed a spot of retail therapy with her mum earlier this week.

The 40-year-old turned heads in a multi-coloured coat as they headed to Gucci.

Gemma and Joan, 65,  spent time checking out the designer stores in Knightsbridge during their girls day out.

The reality star treated her mum to a pair of designer shoes from Gina before they headed for dinner at a local Lebanese restaurant.

She told her followers: “Early Christmas pressie for mum we in mood already.”

Gemma is incredibly close to Joan and was left devastated when she and her dad, Alan, both caught Covid last year.

Her mum is considered vulnerable amid the pandemic and Gemma made sure she spent as much time as she could with her throughout.

She said previously : "My mum has been good as gold to be honest, she has been vulnerable and we’ve done all we can to make sure she has remained safe and we check in on each other more often than we normally would, just checking that everyone’s mental health is OK helps."

Joan battled pneumonia in hospital in March 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The former Towie star explained her mum suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and so is more prone to infections.

The condition has Joan in and out of the hospital, and she also has to use a wheelchair to get around.

Gemma has previously opened up about the "two years of hell" her mum suffered while fighting the illness.

She told The Sun: "I always tried to be really strong, so when I was with her I was happy, upbeat, like ‘Come on mum, you’re gonna be alright!’

"Then I’d leave the house, get in my car and cry for hours."
