Vanessa Woodfield (played by Michelle Hardwick) has caused a bit of a storm in Emmerdale with her return taking ex-partner Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) by surprise. However, as their two sons make it clear they want to spend more time together, will Charity take desperate measures to keep her young boy happy?

After Vanessa’s departure, Charity moved on with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

Their romance has been plagued with insecurities and Charity kissed Mackenzie for the first time while she was engaged to Vanessa.

The mum-of-one was battling cancer at the time and couldn’t forgive her partner’s betrayal.

Ever since Vanessa’s return, Mackenzie has been wary of his girlfriend getting close to her ex again.

However, he needn’t worry as the two are struggling to be civil to one another.

Meanwhile, Charity’s son Moses and Vanessa’s son Johnny were thrilled to be reunited.

In upcoming scenes, Johnny asks Charity if she can organise a playdate with Moses.

The mum is careful not to get Johnny’s hopes up but promises she’ll do what she can.

However, the Dingle matriarch sticks her foot in it with Vanessa creating further tension.

Charity adopted Johnny when Vanessa was receiving treatment for cancer.

Legally, the Dingle mum has parental rights over Vanessa’s son.

Could Charity upset Vanessa by suggesting she’s upsetting her son by not letting him see Moses?

Charity may believe her biological son and adopted son would benefit from having structured time together.

She could decide to take legal action to ensure both she and Moses are allowed time with Johnny.

“Will we see Charity and Vanessa back together in 2022, or will we see Vanessa head off in a new direction maybe?

“I think it’s going to be time for people to decide whether they are team Vanity or team Mackity.

“Charity is also going to be affected by some heartbreaking news involving Ryan that is going to see some huge emotional scenes play out between mother and son and this is going to have some influence over Charity’s relationship.”
