Emmerdale serial killer Meena Jutla will be at the centre of explosive scenes later this month as the show's Super Soap Week returns.
Producers have said upcoming episodes will provide “one of the most gripping and thrilling weeks in Emmerdale’s history."
Viewers have already seen the evil nurse, played by Paige Sandhu, murder Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) on her 18th birthday.
The villagers are unaware of just how unstable Meena truly is. Details are being kept under wraps, but fans can expect some spectacular stunts and plenty of jeopardy across the week's episodes, which are based around Priya Kotecha and Ellis Chapman's recently-planned survival challenge.
Experienced Emmerdale director Duncan Foster recently posted on social media that filming for the week's episodes took an astonishing 33 days.
The episodes will see Meena fuelled by overpowering jealousy after suspecting there is more than meets the eye to boyfriend David Metcalfe’s (Matthew Wolfenden) friendship with Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins).
She makes cold-blooded attempts to have everything her own way on the path to a chilling climax to the story.
A stylish new ITV promo has started airing today (October 1), offering a spooky teaser of what's in store.
As well as Meena, Victoria and David, other villagers featured include Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins); Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb); Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin); Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale); Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker); Ellis Chapman (Aaron Anthony) and Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade).
The villagers all look suitably terrified as a cover version of Meena's signature tune – Britney's 'Toxic' – plays in the background.
Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks said: “This is Emmerdale at its most ambitious as we take viewers through a series of show-stopping stunts.
“As the twists and turns come thick and fast, viewers will be left on the edge of their seats, and with Meena, at the heart of the story it means only one thing; not all our villagers will survive."
Emmerdale continues weeknights at 7pm on ITV.
