EastEnders spoilers: Jay Brown takes shocking action as he discovers Janine Butcher's car theft scam

EASTENDERS' Janine Butcher returned to Albert Square last month and has been nothing but trouble ever since she arrived.

This week her car theft scamming secret comes to its ugly head on the BBC One soap as Jay Brown (played by Jamie Borthwick) finds out what Janine (Charlie Brooks) has been up to.

Jay makes the discovery while on the phone questioning a very high phone bill billed to him.

While on call to his phone provider a customer confronts him about selling stolen cars and threatens to ring the police.

A clueless Jay asks Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) if he knows what the phone bill is about, which leads them to discover it was Janet calling Ben's daughter Lexi from Miami.

Jay confronts Janine about the stolen vehicles and admits he himself wants to go to the police until she makes it very clear it is his name on the forged documents.

Later in the week an angered Jay promises his girlfriend Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) that he will sort out the huge phone bill and confronts Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) about the car scam.

In the background, Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) brother Liam Butcher (Alfie Deegan) continues to steal cars from the customers of Tiffany's hen-do business.

As Tiffany tells Liam about the big group of rich customers she has at her next party tonight, Janine interrupts, telling Liam on the sly that Jay knows about the scam and wants to talk.

Later Billy, Janine and Liam are shocked when Jay says he wants in on the scam and Liam has an idea to do one last big job at Ruby’s tonight.

At the party, one girl notices her keys are missing, making Liam fear they have been rumbled but the plan works.

Suspicous of Liam all along, Tiffany's ex-husband Keegan has a close eye on her brother at the party.

Tiffany tells him that her party is ruined as car keys have gone missing again.

As Liam speeds away in one of the stolen cars Keegan watches him from the shadows.
