Coronation Street Imran Habeeb (played by Charlie De Melo) and ex-wife Sabeen Habeeb (Zora Bishop) have been growling closer the last couple of weeks. Sabeen had recently offered him to join her on a big case she had coming up, but it could potentially be dangerous. He eventually turned the offer down, but girlfriend Toyah Battersby (Georgie Taylor) has growing suspicions the pair are having an affair behind her back – could she be overthinking or have the ex-lovers rekindled their romance?

On Wednesday night’s episodes of Coronation Street, viewers saw Toyah become more paranoid about Imran and Sabeen’s relationship as they were seen everywhere together.

Imran was feeling nervous as Kelly Neelan’s (Millie Gibson) sentencing was imminent and was feeling the pressure to make sure she got the least possible sentence.

Speaking to Toyah before court, he expressed: “Murder has a 12-year suggested minimum for a youth offender.

“12 years, she’ll be 28, and that’s just the minimum it could well be more than that; I mean, that’s her entire youth, gone.”

Later in court, Imran was going over her final speech when Sabeen interrupted him and soon embarked in a conversation regarding her previous offer.

Toyah soon walked out and asked, looking confused: “Is she going to be at the sentencing?” But Imran shut her down and said: “No, no, she’s here for another case.”

After a heartfelt speech about why Kelly should be given the lowest sentence, she was given life in prison with a minimum of 15 years.

Outside the courtroom, Imran and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) had a physical altercation which ended up with Imran in hospital.

“You can’t drive yourself to hospital, I’ll take you,” Sabeen offered, “I’ll spare an hour for the walking wounded.”

In the hospital, Imran thanked Sabeen for bringing him to the hospital, with Sabeen joking: “My knight in shining armour, it’s quite touching, really.”

“I had a neighbour who was sat here for eight hours last week, I’m your legal representation,” she told Imran after he said she could leave.

“I need to get you to come on board my big case,” she said subtly, with Imran exclaiming: “Ah, so that’s why you were so keen on coming down here with me!

“Never in a million years, the case involves getting drug dealers like Harvey Gaskell off the hook, plus I need to focus on Kelly I need to put her first.”

Later, Toyah bumped into Gary Windass (Mikey North), where he revealed that he had seen Imran in town the night of the verdict after he had told Toyah he was at the office.

“Town? Erm, where in town?” she asked, with Gary replying: “I think he was going into a bar.”

Taken back by the revelation, she continued to ask: “Sorry? Are you sure this was the night of the verdict?”

After being seen by the doctor, Sabeen asked: “Shall I run you home?” to which Imran denied, but she continued: “You were more than happy to accept my help on the night of Kelly’s verdict.”

He quickly shut her down before Toyah stormed into the hospital: “Imran, I was worried you’ve been gone ages!”

Feeling insecure about Sabeen and Imran’s “friendship”, Toyah confronted Imran about his whereabouts the night of Kelly’s verdicts.

“You’re in cahoots about something, is there anything going on between you and Sabeen?” she asked outright.

“The night of the verdict, we had a row the next day you’d told me you had been at the office all night.

“Well, Gary said he saw you going into a bar, were you out with Sabeen?” Imran told Toyah that he was ashamed of losing the case and was going to focus on their relationship more.

At the end of the episode, Sabeen was seen taking a phone call from Imran where he told her he needed to see her.

“What a lovely surprise, can’t wait,” she said with a smile on her face.

Could this mean Toyah’s suspicious were right, and Imran and Sabeen will embark on an affair?

Or has there already been some unfaithfulness between the two behind Toyah’s back?
