Call The Midwife spoilers: Trixie makes big decision about wedding in first look clip | The Sun

CALL the Midwife fans are in for a treat as it appears that preparation for Trixie's wedding are going swimmingly.

A new preview clip from the 12th season of the show sees Trixie, played by Helen George, and Matthew, played by Olly Rix, sit down to discuss the next stages of their wedding plans.

Bursting with excitement, Trixie plants a kiss on her husband-to-be's cheek as she sits down to go through their plans together.

Trixie is quick to inform him that the RSVPs are 'flying in' as she declares: "They all say they'll be attending – with bells on."

However, Matthew appeared to have little interest in what she had to say.

Eager to work on the seating plan for the big day, she tells him that they need to work on it together.

As Matthew questions the use of the word 'we', suggesting that she should sort it all herself, Trixie responds: "Well, I need to know about any potential diplomatic incidents.

"You know, warring aunts, kissing cousins. That's how I'll find out your family secrets."

Shunning the idea of putting his focus on the nuptiuals, Matthew informs her that he is due for a meeting later on with a solicitor to discuss his father's estate.

He says disparagingly: "Yet more decisions to be made about my father's estate."

Matthew mulls over how his decisions could have far-rsnging impact felt all over as he ponders if a wrong move could damage his father's legacy or affect his and Trixie's future.

Seeing how much it is consuming him, Trixie tells him: "You know, if you wanted to postpone..?"

Matthew is quick to but in as he offers up a firm 'no', before adding: "Absolutely not."

He reassures Trixie that he still wants to plough ahead with the wedding despite the recent loss of his father.

The current season is airing amid calls from fans to the BBC to commission a brand new spin-off of the show.

One fan favourite is Sister Monica Joan, played by Judy Parfitt, who has been part of the show since it began in 2012.

Last week, the Sister was seen rescuing a dog who had hurt his paw.

The Call the Midwife official Instagram account shared a clip from the episode and it prompted a number of replies from fans asking for a prequel series about Sister Joan.

One wrote: "Would love a 'Young Sister Monica Joan' spinoff".

Others reacted positively to the suggestion, with one replying: "That would be an amazing prequel. Before she became a nun."
