There's a whole host of new moves ready to come out in 2022, and we've put together the best ones and their release dates so you know exactly how long you need to wait.
It's set to be an incredible year for film, with Disney set to spend $33billion (£24.8billion) on streaming in 2022.
But it's not just exciting news from Disney – Marvel and DC are set to go head-to-head several times over the year.
Keep in mind that these release dates are dependent on the coronavirus pandemic not causing any delays.
Here are some of the best movies coming out in 2022 – and when we can expect to see them.
A fifth instalment of American slasher film series was announced in 2019, sending fans into a frenzy.
There's much speculation about the film and its title, which is simply named Scream, the same title as the 1996 original.
However, it's not a remake. The latest film will follow the events of Scream 4. Although much of the plot has been kept under wraps, we know that Sidney will return to Woodsboro to fact Ghostface once again. It is scheduled for release in the UK on January 14.
Morbius is a new offering from Marvel, starring Jared Leto as Dr Michael Morbius.
After the character accidentally turns himself into a vampire, he finds himself "torn between his human and monstrous natures," Marvel explains.
The description continues: "Michael Morbius attempts to cure his life-long blood disease with experimental vampire bat science.
"In the process, he turns himself into a living vampire, tortured by his life-sustaining thirst."
The film originally had a release date set for July 2020, but as with many other films it was delayed due to the pandemic. It is currently scheduled for release on January 28 2022.
Death on the Nile
Death on the Nile is an upcoming American mystery thriller, adapted from the Agatha Christie novel of the same name.
Viewers will once again meet Detective Hercule Poirot, who is enjoying a luxurious cruise down the Nile, when a newlywed heiress is found murdered on the boat.
Death on the Nile, which is directed by Kenneth Branagh, is scheduled for release on February 11.
The upcoming Uncharted film will be an origin story for treasure hunter Nathan Drake, starring Spider Man star Tom Holland.
The film is based on the Naughty Dog game franchise of the same name, and it is believed this specific film will take inspiration from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
The official synopsis from Sony Pictures says: “Based on one of the best-selling, most critically acclaimed video game series of all time, Uncharted introduces audiences to the young street-smart Nathan Drake, and showcases his first treasure hunting adventure with wisecracking partner Victor 'Sully' Sullivan."
The UK release is currently scheduled for February 11.
Robert Pattinson will star as Batman in this highly-anticipated film from Warner Bros, based on the DC Comics character.
The Official synopsis reads: "In his second year of fighting crime, Batman uncovers corruption in Gotham City that connects to his own family while facing a serial killer known as the Riddler."
It is currently scheduled for release on March 4 2022.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is an upcoming sequel based on the Marvel Comics character Doctor Strange.
Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as Dr Stephen Strange as he continues his research on the Time Stone, which is "hindered by a friend-turned-enemy, resulting in Strange unleashing unspeakable evil".
The film is scheduled for release on May 6 2022.
Thor: Love and Thunder
Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth film starring Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder.
Excitingly, Natalie Portman is returning to the franchise as Dr Jane Foster, the astrophysicist who joined forces with Thor in the first two films.
It's set to be released in cinemas on July 8 2022.
John Wick: Chapter 4
John Wick: Chapter 4 is a direct sequel to John Wick 3: Parabellum, and is being directed by Chad Stahelski.
Keanu Reeves will return as the title character, a professional hitman and assassin.
It will pick up after the explosive ending to John Wick 3, which saw John completely separated from the assassin organisation known as The High Table.
The fourth instalment of John Wick is due to hit theatres on May 27.
Top Gun: Maverick
Top Gun: Maverick has been delayed several times, but is now scheduled for release on May 27.
Tom Cruise return in this long-awaited film, which is a sequel to the 1986 Top Gun.
The plot reads: "After more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him."
Jurassic World: Dominion
Jurassic World: Dominion is the third film in the Jurassic World trilogy, and is a direct sequel to Fallen Kingdom, which was released in 2019.
After several delays, it is finally set to be released next summer, with a date set for June 10.
According to Chris Pratt, "it's got pretty much everyone in it".
He added on The Ellen Show: "It's going to feel very much like how Endgame brought everything together in Marvel."
Lightyear, the much-awaited spin-off of the Toy Story franchise, will be Pixar's 26th animated feature.
It will serve as an origin story for Buzz Lightyear, and is being directed by Angus MacLane, with Chris Evans voicing the main character.
It is currently set to be released on June 17.
Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever
Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever is expected to be released on November 17 next year.
Marvel confirmed in November 2021 that filming was on hiatus until January 2022 due to an on-set injury involving Letitia Wright.
Wright suffered a "critical shoulder fracture, and a concussion with severe side effects" during a stunt in August 2021.
Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore
Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third instalment in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise.
The newest chapter of Newt Scamander's adventures will be released globally on April 15, and in the UK and Ireland on April 8.
The plot reads: "Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?"
Mission: Impossible 7
Mission: Impossible 7 is the seventh instalment in the Mission Impossible series, starring Tom Cruise.
It is scheduled for release on October 30, with an eighth film scheduled for July 7 2023.
Not much has been revealed about the plot, but it does look like it's going to be another epic action story.
It will also see the return of Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Frederick Schmidt.
The upcoming superhero film The Flash, based on the DC Comics character, is scheduled for release on November 4.
The Flash is based on the infamous Flashpoint storyline, where Bary Allen makes up in a very different universe.
Superman doesn't exist, Aquaman's Atlantis is at war with Wonder Woman's people in Themyscira and Bruce Wayne was murdered in front of his parents' eyes.
Barry is the only person who remembers what once was.
James Cameron's Avatar 2 is finally going to be released on December 16.
It is one of the four planned sequels to the popular 2009 film, and has been in development since 2010.
It is set several years after the events of Avatar, and Sully is now chieftain and Neytiri high priestess of their clan. It is believed the story will focus on their children.
Hocus Pocus 2
Hocus Pocus 2 is the horror comedy sequel to the 1993 Halloween cult classic, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.
They will all reprise their roles from the original movie.
There's no specific release date for Hocus Pocus 2, but we do know it's due to arrive on Disney+ autumn 2022.
