Ben Shephard left Tipping Point viewers in hysterics on Tuesday after he hilariously made an accidental innuendo.

During the episode, contestant Leah was unable to push any counters off the shelf after going up against the arcade machine.

To which Ben, 46, said: "Oh look at that! Agonisingly close," with Leah replying: "Dangling on in there!"

The presenter then made an accidental innuendo as he commented: "That's a well-hung shelf in there now!"

Viewers were left in hysterics as they took to Twitter to share their amusement over the unfortunate wording.

One person said: "Well hung shelf on #tippingpoint @benshephard on @ITV" followed by a series of amused emojis.

A different account joked: "Well hung again #tippingpoint," followed by an amused GIF.

Another show watcher quipped: "Well-hung shelf, Ben?! #TippingPoint."

While a different viewer pointed out this isn't the first time Ben has made the innuendo as they commented: "Well hung again! #TippingPoint."

Only recently, Good Morning Britain presenter Ben gave an update over whether he’ll be taking part in the BBC dance competition Strictly Come Dancing this year.

The ITV journalist hinted that if it hadn’t been for his football injury, he may well have been signing up to be one of the contestants on the show.

The conversation arose when professional dancer-turned-judge Anton Du Beke joined Ben and Kate Garraway in the studio for an interview.

Dancer Erin Boag also joined for a chat about the Showtime! tour which kicks off in January.

During the conversation, Anton shed light on how nervous celebrities get ahead of their dances, so much so they even go “numb”.

"You wouldn't understand this because you haven't done it,” Anton said to Ben directly, who explained that he would likely not even be able to give the competition a go anymore after he suffered a painful injury in a football game.

The presenter even needed surgery to recover, which prompted more teasing from Kate.

"My legs are numb though, full stop,” Ben shot back as Kate giggled: "He's actually given himself an injury to avoid doing it this year."

"I ruptured my ACL just around the time they were casting the new series of Strictly. Perfect timing,” Ben continued.

"Steph who does all the casting, she contacted me and said, 'Have you done this on purpose?'"
