When Mary finally arrived at Mel’s table, she admitted that one of the first recipe books she bought was her,s before telling her “this is a big moment for me” and telling her she loved her before she was seen bursting into tears.

As Mel wiped the tears away from her eyes with her t-shirt, Mary embraced the star and thanked her for being such a fan.

Viewers immediately reacted to the star’s emotional moment.

“I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed someone so in awe of their idol as Melanie Blatt is with Mary Berry #celebritymasterchef,” said one fan.

A second added: “Mel having absolutely zero chill in front of Mary Berry was very cute.”

“#CelebrityMasterChef Danny's got the hardest dish…” said one viewer.

Another added: “Is it just me but did Kitty just get the easiest recipe out of the lot of them? skinning fish or making own pastry, the only think she made is pesto, piece of cake… and well edited by the Beeb…#celebritymasterchef.”

“Some of these recipes are more difficult than others,” a third added.
