BBC Breakfast presenter admits they got into terrible trouble with TV viewer

BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay revealed why he angered a TV viewer.

On Wednesday's show (August 31), Jon starred alongside his co-star Sally Nugent who both chatted to weather reporter Carol Kirkwood on the programme.

After her daily weather report, Carol explained how she was overjoyed that some rain was coming to the UK.

Carol said: "And that leads us into a rather unsettled weekend and also an unsettled start to next week, with some rain on the cards.

"Of course, rain is welcome many of us have still been in a drought so there won't be enough rain to alleviate that but at least there is some rain in the forecast."

Host Jon then explained why he got into trouble with an angry BBC viewer the day before.

Jon explained: "Yeah, I got into terrible trouble with somebody on Twitter yesterday a lady called Anne because I said 'oh good, we've got some rain coming' and she said 'I'm getting married on Saturday don't wish for rain!'

"You can't win," he added.

This comes after Jon also revealed his "most terrifying moment" which actually took place on a famous TV quiz show.

On Monday's programme (August 29), the two hosts celebrated the 60th anniversary of University Challenge.

Talking about his stint on the show, Jon said: "It was the most terrifying thing I've ever done."

Sally replied: "You answered a question, though. It was alcohol-related."

"I answered one question, yes. I didn't speak again for the rest of the hour, I thought I've got one in the bank don't ruin it, Jon, don't risk it," he added.

Sally then quizzed: "And Paxman was asking the questions, was he mean?"

To which Jon admitted: "Yes, there was no small talk, no chit-chat, it was just straight in asking questions. But he was very charming in a way."
