Anton Du Beke was left emotional on the last episode of his BBC One travel show Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Sicily on Tuesday night.
During the final instalment, Anton, 56, and Strictly co-star Giovanni Pernice travelled to the latter's hometown of Palermo, where Gio was reunited with his family in heartwarming scenes.
The episode ended with a special birthday party for Giovanni but in a sweet moment he decided to surprise Anton by revealing his wife, Hannah, and twin children George and Henrietta.
Prior to the reveal, Giovanni, 32, told Anton: "Because this is lovely…" to which Anton said: "It's your birthday!"
Giovanni continued: "I know how much you love me, but I know how much you love them…" to which Anton's family then joined the party.
Speaking in a VT, Giovanni said: "His [Anton's] wife, Hannah, and two children have flown over to join us."
And it wasn't long until Anton's two excited children ran over to hug their dad as he lifted them up, exclaiming: "Hello my darling boy!"
He then gave wife Hannah a sweet kiss and hug, adding: "Aw, I love you!"
Talking about the surprise, an emotional Anton said: "I just, I'm so delighted because I was able to have my family and his [Giovanni's] family together. Aw, magic!"
The fun BBC series has seen Giovanni introduce co-star and friend Anton to his beloved home of Sicily.
The duo were also joined by Giovanni's former Strictly partner Rose Ayling-Ellis, who he won the show with in 2021.
In the three-part series, Anton and Giovanni explored everything from breathtaking sights such as Mount Etna and authentic old towns right through to sampling Sicilian cuisine and even indulging in a tango or two.
Anton said of the show: "When I first heard about this trip it was pretty irresistible. What's not to love? It's all my favourite things, great food, great country and spending time in the sunshine with Giovanni. Marvellous!"
While Giovanni added: "To say this has been a dream project is an understatement! Taking Anton to my much-loved home of Sicily was simply Bellissima!
"We danced, we laughed, and had the time of our lives – with great culture, food and company. I cannot wait for viewers in the UK to come on this journey with us. See you in the Sicilian sun! Ciao, x."
