Toni Collette swears during game on Saturday Night Takeaway

Ant and Dec began Saturday Night Takeaway by welcoming back the ITV gameshow, Saturday Night at the Movies. The comedy duo asked guest announcer Toni Collette to take part in the game, which saw the actress trying to guess the name of the films being acted out by viewers at home. Although, just minutes into the show, the pressure got too much for Toni and she said the word “s**t”.

However, it didn’t take viewers long to pick up on the swear word, with many taking to social media to complain.

Twitter user @complainer_mr raged: “Did she just shout S**T out on a love family show #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

@meefey asked: “Not gonna apologise for the swearing? #SaturdayNightTakeaway.” (sic)

While @YeaItsSandy pointed out: “Toni Collette saying s**t and Ant & Dec acting like it never happened #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

@chrisholliday wrote: “Almost certain Toni Colette just epically swore on #saturdaynighttakeaway…”

@deathgripsfan2 fumed: “To say I’m outraged is an understatement. How on earth can this happen on a FAMILY show? I’m sat here shaking trying to figure out how to explain what this explain this to my little ones! The fact we have had to go through this surely warrants some apology.#SaturdayNightTakeaway.” (sic)

Despite the backlash, some viewers found the blunder funny, with @Matts_Tweeting commenting: “That was good. cue the apology for the s**t word lol #SaturdayNightTakeaway.” (sic)

“LMAOOOOOO I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE SWEAR ON LIVE TV WHAT AN ADRENALINE RUSH #SaturdayNightTakeaway,” @rileyjo33433461 said.
