Alex Scott is dating Coronation Street hunk Sam Robertson

FOOTIE pundit Alex Scott is dating Corrie’s Sam Robertson.

Former Strictly star Alex, 35, and soap actor Sam, 34, who plays Ken Barlow’s bad boy grandson Adam, enjoyed a cosy evening together on Friday at a restaurant.

It comes as the BBC move to bring her in as Sue Barker’s replacement on long-running quiz show A Question of Sport.

Alex and Sam had a candlelit meal for two at fashionable Dean Street Townhouse in London’s Soho, sipping cocktails and chatting affectionately before heading away together later.Onlookers said they looked to be having “a brilliant time” and were “flirting” openly.

A source said: “They both looked totally relaxed about being out together, even though they’re both very famous now.

“Strictly made Alex a household name so she’s instantly recognisable, and Sam is a big name on Corrie so they probably knew they’d be spotted out together but didn’t seem to mind at all.

“They laughed and flirted with each other and had a great time before heading off looking very cosy. They’re clearly both happy.”

We revealed last week that Alex is being earmarked for A Question of Sport, which is getting an overhaul.

Long-time host Barker, 64, plus team captains Phil Tufnell, 54, and Matt Dawson, 47, have been unexpectedly axed in a bid to diversify the format of the show, on air for 50 years.

Ex-footballer Alex has regularly appeared as a guest on the quiz, having won 140 England caps and represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics. She got an MBE four years later.

She would be just the fourth host in the show’s history, following David Vine, David Coleman and ex-tennis professional Sue, who took over in 1997.

Sam first appeared in Corrie in 2004 for a four-year stint as Adam. He returned to the role in 2016 — and became a firm favourite thanks to his storylines and good looks.

Meanwhile, Alex has spoken of being on the receiving end of negative comments online — admitting it had prompted her to doubt her future on TV.

She said: “At first, I thought no one liked me on TV but I’ve got to a place now where those sorts of comments are only like ten to 20 per cent and I have a whole audience that does love me and is behind me.”
