A PLACE in the Sun fans were left in hysterics after reading a rejection letter – but not everything is as it seems.
Writer Ciara Knight shared the email with her 246.8K followers on Twitter.
Uploading a screen grab of the rejection letter, she said: "Got rejected for A Place In The Sun," with a sad face emoji.
The letter said: "Hi Ciara, many thanks for your interest in applying to take part in A Place In The Sun.
"Unfortunately, we cannot progress with your application as the process does not involve going to the actual sun.
"The name refers to overseas travel in pursuit of buying a property, typically to a location with good (or better) weather that we have in the UK.

"While I appreciate your desire to be 'launched into the sun to never return', this is not something we can help with on this occasion.

For those who haven't already guessed, the post was a prank.
To make sure everyone reading the letter got it, she signed off with a man called "John Fakesurname," who was apparently the casting director of the Channel 4 show.
