It’s been over ten years since the original “Chicken Noodle Soup” premiered. Now, the song is back, featuring two new artists and a trendy dance for fans to learn. Already, the single is becoming a dance craze, mostly thanks to BTS’ J-Hope and the artist Becky G. Who wrote “Chicken Noodle Soup?” Learn more about this groovy track, here.
J-Hope recently released the song ‘Chicken Noodle Soup’ with artist, Becky G
This K-pop artist is known for being one of the main dancers and rappers for the boy band BTS. Aside from that, he’s the performer behind the chart-topping mixtape, Hope World, which premiered earlier in 2018. During an interview with Time Magazine, the artist elaborated on his solo music and inspirations.
“I actually don’t preoccupy myself with ‘I’m going to do this kind of rap in this kind of genre’ kind of thinking when I work. I went with and got my beats from what appealed to me, what drew me in and what felt good. The way I work is very on-the-spot flow, and I write the rap and the music as I feel them coming,” J-Hope said.
Now, J-Hope is back with a new single, which he recorded while BTS was on their period of rest and relaxation. Alongside J-Hope is the American singer Becky G, who previously sang with artists like Pitbull. Her best-known song is Sin Pijama, which has over 400 million streams on Spotify.
The two artists collaborated for a song and music video, entitled “Chicken Noodle Soup,” which premiered on Sept. 27, 2019. It jumped to one of the top trending spots on YouTube, currently with almost 25 million plays on YouTube.
The song was originally released in 2006, created by Young B. and Webstar, aka DJ Webstar, and AG aka the Voice of Harlem
“Chicken Noodle Soup” is grabbed inspiration from a few different places. One version of this song premiered in 2006, featuring some artists and the sounds of Harlem, New York. The 2006 version of this song was written by rapper Bianca Bonnie, also known by her stage name Young B.
Becky G. and J-Hope’s version of the song is somewhat of a sequel to this song. They created their own lyrics, while still holding true to the sounds and feelings of “Chicken Noodle Soup.” It even sparked a viral dance craze, with some fans learning the choreography from the video.
Who wrote J-Hope and Becky G’s version of ‘Chicken Noodle Soup’?
Since its premiere, some fans are wondering who wrote this single. According to Billboard, “‘Chicken Noodle Soup’ is a trilingual track, featuring J-Hope performing primarily in Korean, while Becky G performs in English and Spanish with lyrics that she wrote. The pair are credited as composers on the track along with Jinbo, Supreme Boi, Pdogg, Adora, and Brasa, per Apple Music.”
This is not the first time J-Hope has credit with writing songs, as the artist has credit composing songs for BTS and off of his mixtape, Hope World. J-Hope’s music, including “Chicken Noodle Soup” is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
