Liar Liar child star unrecognisbale 25 years on from stint in Jim Carrey movie

Child star Justin Cooper looks worlds apart from his days as an actor in the late 90s, which saw him perform with big name Hollywood stars.

Jim Carrey’s comedy Liar Liar was released in 1997 and stars the comedic giant alongside Jennifer Tilley and child star Justin Cooper.

Cooper, who is now 33-years-old, played a little boy who wished that his father, played by Jim Carrey, would never tell his family another lie again.

His wish was granted but backfired as his father actually told lies all day, every day.

The film had great commercial success and a successful opening weekend.

It later landed Carrey a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor In Comedy and was named on the AF1 list of top 100 American comedies of all time.

Jim credited his young co-star for his “best scene” in Liar Liar, in which they improvised the dad pretending to hide a presenter.

The then eight-year-old child star Justin, who played Max Reede, also appeared in Full House.

After his acting debut on the American sitcom, which features Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as Michelle Tanner, also appeared in the drama General Hospital.

The child actor also played the mischievous Dennis the Menace in the 1998 live action movie Dennis The Menace Strikes Again.

Cooper also starred in Western action television series The Magnificent Seven as Billy Travis, Brother’s Keeper as Porter’s son Oscar and All About Us as Mike Alcott.

Justin’s writing credits also include 1998’s The Adventures of Ragtime, 1994’s The Boys Are Back and 1997’s Boy Meets World.

His role as Timothy Graham in legal series The Practice was his final acting appearance, meaning he hasn’t taken a role since 2003.

He seems to have left his acting career behind as he’s grown up, adopting a very different look to the baby faced star his fans knew and loved.

He pulled at the heart-strings of every family through his role as Max but nowadays fans will barely recognise him as he’s completely grown up and sports a beard, glasses and fluffy short brown hair.
