The rapper had been at a friend’s home in downtown LA on Wednesday and went to the bathroom sometime in the late afternoon, but didn’t return for “quite a while”.

After calling for him and getting no response, they went into the bathroom and found Coolio laying on the floor.

They called the emergency services, with medics racing to the scene to find the rapper showing no signs of life.

EMTs quickly responded, administering CPR for 45 minutes, before pronouncing him dead.

The rapper’s manager spoke to TMZ, stating that he had travelled from his home in Las Vegas to LA in order to “get or renew his passport”, as he was due to travel to Germany this coming weekend, to perform at shows he had scheduled.

It has been reported that police did not find evidence of drugs or paraphernalia in the bathroom, with Coolio’s manager reporting that the rapper died of a heart attack.
