Britney Spears Singing in This Throwback Video Will Give You *Major* Nostalgia

If you miss hearing Britney Spears sing, you’re not alone! Apparently, Brit’s mom, Lynne Spears, wants her daughter to resume her music career too. Britney just shared a super nostalgic throwback video of her singing “You Got It All” from a performance in Singapore.

“Geez … My mom sent this to me and reminded me that I can sing 🎶😂🙈🎤 !!!! She said “You never sing anymore … you need to again !!!!” she captioned the video. “I’ve actually never watched this performance … it’s definitely from a while ago !!!! It’s from one of the first trips I took alone … mostly I just remember saying “WOW Singapore” 🇸🇬😍!!!!!”

Britney’s comment section is full of people agreeing that they miss her performing. “One of the most iconic voices in music TBH,” one person wrote. Another added, “You can sing! Anyone that really loves you would never try and silence your voice on ANY level! That includes your family! Remember that! 💓💓💓.”

The one comment is a reference to Britney’s conservatorship. ICYMI, Britney does not have control over her finances. The Framing Brtiney doc gets into the details, but here’s the gist. Basically, she was placed under a conservatorship in October 2008 after she was put on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold. The court placed her under the conservatorship of her dad and attorney Andrew Wallet. The #FreeBritney movement is in support of Britney having freedom over her finances again and many believe that she is being unjustifiably controlled.

Britney hasn’t performed live in year partly because of the conservatorship. During a Nov. 10 court hearing, her attorney, Sam Ingham, claimed that she was afraid of her father and wouldn’t perform on stage as long as he remained a part of the conservatorship.

Fingers crossed that soon Brit will have the freedom she deserves!
