It was 10 years ago that Andrea Bocelli performed his stunning concert in New York City’s Central Park. Now as the Italian tenor prepares to release the 10th anniversary remastered edition of his Concerto: One Night In Central Park album, he’s shared a clip from the performance of him singing Nessun dorma. Dressed in a white suit, Bocelli is seen capturing the hearts and imaginations of those lucky enough to have been in the audience.
During the video, Bocelli is accompanied by the Westminster Symphonic Choir and New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
The 62-year-old is quoted below the official video on his YouTube channel, paying tribute to his late father who always wanted to go to New York.
His son said of the performances captured on September 15, 2011: “I dedicate that extraordinary evening to the memory of my father, it was his dream.”
The remastered edition of the concert album, which is released on Friday, features new renditions by the 62-year-old including one of O Sole Mio.
