American Music Awards Add Megan Thee Stallion, Shawn Mendes, Bad Bunny, Lil Baby to BTS-Driven Lineup

The American Music Awards show is solidifying its lineup for this year’s broadcast, adding Megan Thee Stallion, Shawn Mendes, Lil Baby and Bad Bunny to the list of artists set to perform Nov. 22.

BTS and Dua Lipa were previously announced as performers for the ABC show, which will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson.

Lil Baby’s song was named as part of the performance reveal — it’s “Emotionally Scarred,” which will be getting its TV debut — but the network was mum on what Mendes will be up to, other than that it’s a “world premiere performance (that) will give fans the unexpected from the moment he takes the stage.” The AMAs also teased that Megan Thee Stallion will be doing “an unrevealed track,” while notifying fans that Bad Bunny will be teaming up with reggaeton star Jhay Cortez.

The big draw for the show may remain BTS, as producers already announced the K-pop group would be performing two numbers, the current English-language hit “Dynamite” and the lead single from the upcoming deluxe edition of the “BE” album, “Life Goes On.” Dua Lipa was also previously announced as a performer.

The show will be broadcast from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. ET and tape-delayed on the west coast at 8 PT.

With plenty of performance slots remaining for a three-hour show, some suspense remains over whether the AMAs might land one or both of the two top nominees, The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch, each of whom have eight nods. Megan Thee Stallion is the third most-nominated artist, with five. Coming into the show with four nominations are Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, DaBaby and the just-announced Bad Bunny.
