Zara and Mike Tindall tend to stay out of the spotlight, but over the weekend the couple was seen embracing one another in public. Former England rugby player Mike was taking part in a golf tournament for charity and Zara attended to give her support. Express.co.uk spoke to body language expert Judi James about the public display of affection and she said Princess Anne’s daughter was “besotted” with her husband.

The golf tournament was held at the Belfry Hotel & Resort in Sutton Coldfield and was organised to raise money for two charities; the Matt Hampson Foundation and the Cure Parkinson’s Trust.

Mike was taking part and Zara was presumably a spectator.

The image, which Mike posted on his golfing Twitter account, @TindallGolf saw the couple smiling for the camera.

Mike had his arm around Zara’s shoulders and was planting a kiss on the side of her forehead.

Zara was looking at the camera, smiling, while she had her arm around her husband’s waist.

Mike was wearing some funky bright pink shorts, which had aliens and space shifts all over them.

He teamed it with a charity black polo shirt.

Zara, on the other hand, opted for jeans and white trainers and a dark-blue jacket.

Judi discussed the couple’s body language with one another and said: “It takes a brave and clearly besotted wife to cosy up to her husband while he’s wearing a pair of electric pink, alien-print shorts complete with smart belt, but Zara is clearly that woman.

“Other royal couples might be known for their signature PDAs but Zara and Mike’s are always the most compelling and enjoyable in my book, as they always look like a natural and spontaneous feature of their married life, rather than something performed just for the cameras.

“This snuggle and head-kiss shows this marriage is a mutual appreciation society, with signals from both showing balanced attraction and affection,” she added.

“Zara is snuggled into Mike’s torso here and his hand squeezing her arm shows he’s signalling approval for the intimacy.

“Her left knee is bend to press their thighs together and her grin shows she’s proud of her golf-playing husband.”

Judi continued: “Mike’s forehead-kiss is a sweet ritual of affection but his crinkled eyes and his obvious grin suggest he’s also bonding with humour and probably making her laugh with a joke at the same time.”

The couple clearly have a playful relationship as Mike captioned the tweet with “Zara taking time out of her schedule to have a photograph with a fan! @miketindall13.”

Zara and Mike have three children together; Mia Grace Tindall, seven, Lena Elizabeth Tindall, three and Lucas Philip Tindall, six month.

Despite being the Queen’s granddaughter, Zara was not given a royal title by her mother Princess Anne.

This has meant Zara has enjoyed a relatively private life with husband Mike at their Gatcombe Park home.

The couple have to also source their own income as they do not receive any money from the royal purse.

Instead, Zara has made a name for herself as an award-winning equestrian.
