Woman laughs after tattoo artist spells her dads common name totally wrong

A tattoo fan who wanted to pay tribute to her parents by getting their names inked on her skin says the artist spelled her dad's name "John" wrong – but finds it funny.

In a TikTok video, Kimberly @timbles32 shows off the tattoo, which is spelled J-H-O-N, and admits she didn't notice the error until it was too late and the design was permanently under her skin.

"This is the tattoo and it's supposed to be J-O-H-N and it's not really fixable because it's in the spot I want it to be so I'd have to get it removed and re-done."

Despite this, Kimberly says the blunder isn't a problem because now the inking has a secret meaning.

She explains: "I'm lucky because my family actually has an inside joke – when we were little my brother and I signed my dad up for a magazine subscription and spelled his name like this.

"And so, it’s kind of like an inside family joke. When I told my mom about it, she was like, ‘Yeah, now the tattoo has even more meaning'.

"So I’m not upset. I texted the tattoo artist and they said 'I'm so sorry,' but it's fine."

The TikToker then shows how she has her mum's name Kristian inked on the other knee in exactly the same font.

"We were super focused on this one being spelled right and that's how we glazed over the misspelling of my father's name," she explains.

One user commented: "I’m glad it all worked out! It’s definitely a good story and good you all can laugh about it."

A second said they "thought it said Thor", while another admitted they believed it was supposed to be "Thon".

Someone else joked: "Please add a G to the end of it" – making it read "thong".
