With the UK in lockdown and supermarkets still experiencing high demand for online delivery slots, customers should get ahead and start planning when they would like their food shop to be delivered.

For those planning to do an Easter shop at Tesco, delivery slots are now available online.

At the start of the month, Tesco announced that Easter slots would only be available for its Delivery Saver customers who get a pick of seasonal delivery slots.

However all slots are now available for customers to book their Easter weekend delivery slot.

To book a shop at Tesco, you need to sign up for an online account and log into it.

Priority slots are available for vulnerable customers.

Delivery prices start at £4.50 and there is also a £4 surcharge for deliveries that cost less than £40.

For those who don’t manage to get an Easter slot, Tesco has a click and collect service as well as a huge range of seasonal food available in store.

Sainsbury’s hasn’t yet announced when Easter delivery slots will be available but last year it was available weeks in advance.

However, those hoping to get a slot with Sainsbury’s should keep checking regularly because last year they sold out very quickly.

Sainsbury’s delivers seven days a week including on bank holidays so customers should be able to pick their best suited delivery time.

Delivery costs £7 if the food order is under £40 while orders over the amount range between £1 and £4.50 depending on time.

The supermarket giant also has a click and collect service where customers can pick up groceries the next day if they spend over £40.

For orders under £40, it costs £4 to pick them up at selected stores.

Delivery slots at Asda are often released two weeks in advance but Easter slots will be available much earlier.

Like Tesco, the retailer has a Delivery Pass scheme where customers can get exclusive access to shopping slots.

It isn’t taking new sign-ups due to the demand for delivery during the pandemic but those who are already members can book an Easter slot now.

Morrisons hasn’t yet announced when customers will be able to book Easter delivery slots but it is worth checking each day to avoid disappointment.

The supermarket has seen high demand for online delivery slots this year due to the pandemic and has increased the number of slots as well as its click and collect service.

Last year, the slots sold out in weeks and were released a couple of weeks before the big day.

Delivery pass holders and vulnerable customers can see slots up to 21 days in advance.

This means those who fall into these categories may be able to book an Easter shop ahead of everyone else.

Non delivery pass holders can see slots up to seven days in advance.

For those still heading to store to pick up groceries it is worth checking the safety rules in place at each supermarket.
