Shoppers are loving an £8 Amazon gel pillow that keeps you cool at night

AS temperatures continue to soar across the UK, over-heated Brits are on the hunt for new ways to keep cool.

And shoppers are going mad for a bargain gel pillow which you can pop in the freezer to stop the heat keeping you up at night.

The KEPLIN Cooling Gel Pillows are designed to help people with flu, headaches or migraines, but they are also perfect for helping you sleep during the heatwave.

Even better, the pack of two large freezable gels costs just £7.49, with free delivery available.

The pillows were spotted and shared by an eagle-eyed poster in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

Kerrie said: "Anyone struggling to keep cool at night in this heat, these are a good send.

"Put them in the freezer for a few hours before bed and lay them underneath you. Best £7.99 I've ever spent."

She added that you can also use them to beat the heat on car journeys or padded under play mats to keep your child cool.

The mats measure 30 by 40cm – perfect for slipping under your pillow at night.

If you don't want a double pack, you can buy them individually – but it's much more expensive at £5.30 each.

Users of the pillows say that you need to stick them in the fridge or freezer to get the maximum benefit.

The Amazon options are definitely good value for money – we couldn't find the same or similar any cheaper elsewhere.

However, some savvy shoppers have a trick that could save you even more cash.

Pet-owners say that the pillows are extremely similar to the ones you can get for cats and dogs, which can be less expensive.

Jo commented: "Look in the pet section, [you] can normally get bigger ones for same price. That's what I did."

Vanda agreed: "Cheaper to buy pet cooling pads and they are bigger."

And Amanda added: "I bought my dog one for £2.99 in Home Bargains. It’s pretty much the same as this if you want to save some pennies."

There's plenty of pet cooling mat options available online, but you need to spend less than £3.75 including delivery to save.

Amazon has one of the cheapest pet ones we could find at just £2.49, but the delivery takes you over the £3.75 mark.

You may be able to get better deals in stores like Home Bargains and B&M but we couldn't find any online that would beat the Amazon deal.
