One-bed flat has been on market for five years – and owners want £75k for it

They say location is everything.

But even when you’re in a picturesque setting, it can be difficult to make properties sell.

This is the case for a one-bedroom flat, which is situated on one of Hull’s most photographed streets.

The Lanes, number 1a on Prince Street, is accommodation that’s situated in the heart of the city’s stunning Old Town.

It was first added to the Rightmove website on September 20, 2016, and is currently listed at £75,000.

The listing reads: "Now is the time to buy or invest in the Hull City Centre and we have the perfect one just for you.”

It continues: "Positioned in the historical Old Town this 1 bedroom apartment is located in the heart of the Old Town and is within easy access to all the area has to offer.

"Comprising of communal entrance hall, entrance hall, lounge, kitchen, double bedroom with dressing area and bathroom.

"Situated in the heart of the Hull City Centre the property offers easy access to local amenities including shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.

"There is excellent public transport available with bus, coach and rail connections from the Paragon interchange and there are good road connections to all parts of the city and beyond with access to the A63/M62 motorway link gained via Castle Street."

You’d think the home would have got a lot of attention – so HullLive caught up with a representative from letting agent Zest to ask why it hadn’t garnered more attention.

The spokesperson emphasised that there was no reason for the property to have performed so dismally on the housing market.

Despite being located in the city's "most photographed" street, it's a very slow burner that's not managed to find the right buyer yet.

Maybe you could be the person to snag this property that has been lurking around Rightmove for half a decade.
