With lockdown 2.0 firmly behind us, and Christmas bubbles being formed around the country, now’s the time to get REALLY excited for the festive season ahead.
M&S Food has a dazzling display of goodies in-store this year to make your Christmas as magical (and delicious) as possible.
They have also made it easier for shoppers to relax and get into the spirit of the season with a host of new safety measures in-store, including digital queues, extended opening hours, and the option to book shopping slots in advance to take any stress out of shopping. Find your closest store and opening hours here.
Famous for show stopping party food and gorgeous foodie gifts, this year M&S has gone even further to achieve the wow factor. And if you’re getting ahead with your food shopping this year, they have everything you need for a delicious Christmas dinner in the freezer!
For even more inspiration, you can visit M&S’ fabulous online festive hub.
This is not just any party food
Festivities may look a bit different, some might even be virtual, but whether you’re having online drinks with friends, or just picking in front of the telly on Saturday night, there’s a perfect party food option for all.
Packs of party food are already flying out of the fridges and freezers at M&S, with top sellers including one the stars of their Christmas ads, the Mini Beef and Porcini-filled Yorkshires (£7). The Crown star, Olivia Colman called them “a little bit fancy pants” and we happen to agree!
This year’s selection of party treats also includes the UK-first Chicken Doughnut Dippers with a smoky BBQ sauce and crunchy waffle crumb for dipping (£5). The savoury treats are even presented in their very own doughnut box. Another huge-hitter, the Battered Mini Sausages with a Chip-Shop Style Curry Sauce dip (£5), are made with British pork in a salt and vinegar batter and are ridiculously good.
M&S’ mini crumpet canapés, which were a huge hit with customers last Christmas, are back this year smothered in Marmite® and melted Cheddar cheese (£7). Love it, or hate it, they’re Good Housekeeping approved and a real must-try.
If that wasn’t enough, M&S’ festive party food range is all available on a 4 for 3 offer, and suitable for freezing (so stock up now).
Fill the freezer
For the ultimate convenience, this year you can find everything from turkey and mince pies to desserts and party food in the freezer aisle. M&S is seeing customers planning ahead with their festive food shopping more than ever, and demand for great-quality, great value frozen Christmas food is at an all time high!
M&S’ freezers are loaded with everything you could need for the perfect Christmas dinner – from seafood starters, to succulent meats and all the trimmings, to the most decadent desserts.
If you’re after a dessert show-stopper, the Black Forest Gateau (£6) is made from chocolate sponge soaked in Kirsch syrup with cherry compote, whipped cream, chocolate shavings and cherries. And returning after its huge popularity last year, the Torched Winter Berry Pavlova (£8), is topped with whipped cream and winterberries, and sprinkled with a sweet dusting, and is perfect for any festive celebration (never mind just Christmas Day!).
Billed as the ultimate vegan dessert this year, everyone will want a piece of the new Plant Kitchen Sticky Toffee Pudding (£4). This lightly spiced pudding is studded with dates and topped with rich salted caramel sauce.
Mince pie fans need never run out…you can even find them in the freezer this year! Perfect for that freshly baked mince pie smell in the house, the Ready to Bake Mince Pies (6 for £2.50) are all-butter shortcrust pastry mince pies, deep filled with juicy vine fruits, and are ready to bake from frozen. An easy way to enjoy the taste of homemade pies with none of the stress.
We definitely declare 2020 the year to fill up the freezer!
We LOVE the fact that we can tick off so much of our Christmas gift shopping while doing our Christmas food shopping this year.
M&S has really pulled out the stops with their range of fun and delicious gifts this year. Whether you’re buying for an ultimate foodie, or the Percy Pig fanatic in your life, there’s a great range of options from stocking fillers to under-the-tree heroes.
Don’t miss this year’s must-have gift for Percy Pig obsessives: a gorgeous glass jar, embossed with Percy's face, and full of 1kg of iconic Percy Pig sweets. Once the sweets have been devoured, the jar can be upcycled into all sorts of fun things, from vases to lanterns, or a treasure trove for special keepsakes. What’s more, the Percy Sweetie Jar is currently on offer for only £12 (from £15).
Presented in the most beautiful box, the picture-perfect Triple Chocolate Panettone (£10) is a must-have foodie gift (with no need to wrap either – bonus!). Baked at an Italian family bakery, this sweet and fluffy panettone is filled with chocolate sauce and chocolate chips then topped with dark chocolate and white chocolate chips.
And while we’re talking chocolate – you can find a chocolate box for every occasion at M&S this year, from the beautifully packaged Milk Chocolate, Milk, Dark & White and Mint Chocolate Boxes (currently only £4), to the social media superstar Collection After Dinner Mint chocolates (£12), which turns into a mini table for easy picking!
Festive sneak peeks
If that hasn’t taken your fancy (and we’d be amazed if it hasn’t!), M&S has the most incredible goodies launching into stores throughout December, and we’ve had an exclusive sneak peek of three of them hitting stores over the next week:
• The Continental Antipasti Wreath (£10) is a table-ready grazing platter complete with Italian prosciutto crudo, salami Milano, Italian Nocellara olives, Spanish chorizo and Manchego. In-store now and perfect for picking at in front of the TV!
• What’s better than a warm, flaky sausage roll at Christmas? A giant one of course! Launching next Wednesday the Merry Christmas Giant Sausage Roll (£8) is over 600g of pork and caramelised onion, wrapped in all-butter puff pastry, and is perfect for family sharing. It'll be joined by a Merry Christmas giant vegetable roll serves 8 poeple (£8) made with flaky vegan puff pastry, carrot, swede, butternut squash, cranberry and seeds. Just slice and share!
• What would Christmas dinner be with Pigs in Blankets? M&S’ 'Our Best Ever' Pigs in Blankets (£5) are definitely going into the shopping basket when they launch next Wednesday. These cocktail sausages have been perfectly seasoned and wrapped in crispy bacon, and if M&S say they’re their best ever… we’re going to need to see what the fuss is about.
