Family’s sweet gesture to girl who had drink thrown over her prom dress

A schoolgirl who went viral after she left her prom in tears when bullies hurled a drink over her dress has been invited to a special ball.

Emilee Perry, 16, made headlines when her mum Tracy shared photos of her crying after friends had thrown cherryade over her head.

The Doncaster teenager called her mum to collect her after 100 of her classmates saw a 'friend' pour the jug over her head.

Heartbreakingly, Emilee, who suffers with severe anxiety, had been convinced to go to the prom by her family – who spent hundreds on getting her a dress, and her hair and make up done.

Now, a kind-hearted family from the same town who lost their daughter last year have invited Emilee to their charity ball so she can have a second chance at prom night, Metro reported.

The event – Summer's Charity Ball – is being held in memory of Summer Neylan, 15, who tragically died of misadventure in September last year.

The ball is being held to raise money for PAPYRUS – a young suicide prevention charity.

Cassie Bell, Summer's auntie, invited Emilee to the Alice and Wonderland-themed ball after seeing her story on Facebook .

"I just thought, how gutting would that have been, going to all that effort and for someone to do that to her," Cassie told Metro.

"Her dress looked beautiful. It must have been heartbreaking."
