If recent seasons are anything to go by, Liverpool and Man City remain dual favourites.
Both sides have had dodgy periods this term, the former are without a win in their last five league games, but their squads are jam-packed with proven winners.
Virgil van Dijk’s injury is a huge factor and their inability to find the net in recent weeks will concern Jurgen Klopp but you suspect the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah won’t misfire for long.
Selector players may be thinking of keeping Liverpool back until the latter rounds while City are probably the bankers right now.
Man United have exhibited admirable character this season.
Late goals, comebacks, terrific away form… Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have snowballed momentum to mount a serious title challenge.
Shrewd Selector players will be wary of their results at Old Trafford which haven’t been as impressive as their efforts away from home.
Leicester do things altogether more quietly, but they are no less impressive.
The likes of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Jamie Vardy, Youri Tielemans and Wilfred Ndidi give their first-choice XI considerable quality while youngsters James Justin and Wesley Fofana have been remarkable revelations.
Could Brendan Rodgers’ side repeat the Foxes’ heroics of 2015/2016?
Spurs have one of the best defences in the top flight, the best attacking partnership in Europe in Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, and very few injuries.
But will their inability to kill teams off cost them? Can will Jose Mourinho change his spots and allow his side to express themselves when required?
The north London side have won 50% of their league games at this stage.
By sheer definition, we must include Everton in the conversation of title contenders.
The Toffees have two games in hand over Man United, Leicester and local rivals Liverpool.
They’re in great form and will hope to continue their purple patch with upcoming games against Newcastle and Leeds after a mouthwatering clash against Leicester.
Deciding when to use Carlo Ancelotti’s troops will be something for Selector players to muse over next month.
For what it’s worth, we think defences win titles – therefore our prediction is that the miserly Man City will be champions but there’s a lot of football to be played yet.
Who will be your first pick when Selector opens on January 30?
