Bridgerton’s Charithra Chandran has a new full fringe that completely changes her look

In hot Bridgerton news, we may have just been given a little teaser for series three in the form of Charithra Chandran, aka Edwina Sharma, who has been showing off a hair makeover on Instagram.

The star has just unveiled a full fringe featuring choppy layers, and we think you’ll agree that the look is worthy of an entire special issue of Lady Whistledown’s weekly newsletter. The rest of her hair remains a glossy raven colour and has been given a mirror-like shine with the help of some professional styling from Patrick Wilson, celebrity hairstylist.

We can’t say for certain that her updated look is for Bridgerton specifically, but we do know that filming for series three is officially underway. Also, Charithra says this fringe look is her one of her “fave looks ever” – so could it be that the bangs are sticking around for the new season? We really hope so, as it would show Edwina is coming back fighting after being left at the altar by her fiancé in series two. Brutal.

The 25 year old is yet to post snaps of the look to her own Instagram grid but Patrick has kindly given us the full details on his own page.

“When @charithra17 managed to grow a fringe between shots #charithrachandran #bridgerton #edwinasharma #inthemakeupchair,” he writes.

It’s clear from the caption, and from Charithra’s Instagram Stories, that the fringe hasn’t been cut in permanently, rather the result of a very convincing clip-in hair piece. We also wonder if she was inspired by her on-screen sister Simone Ashley, aka Kate Sharma, to try out this bold new look. Simone had a fringe makeover herself just a few months ago and shared the results with her stunned Instagram followers.

Simone posed for the camera with her freshly cut tresses, and although her hair looks like it was yet to be blow-dried, we can see she’s had face framing, choppy layers cut in. She also had a few inches of length cut off the main body of her hair. Very non-Regency era.

The new style looked like an “octopus” cut: a redesigned mullet where more length is added to the bottom of the cut while the hair on the top maintains its full weight. The style was brought to mainstream attention last year after the fashionable likes of Billie Eilish and Squid Games’ HoYeon Jung (also known as Player 067) pioneered them on social media and Netflix.

Who knew two ladies of society could be so daring with their hairstyles?
